Description
A comedy cosmic horror adventure made in Transylvania.

Darkham, with its crooked gambrel roofs, dark alleys, and a past shrouded in secrecy, never really was a welcoming place, but nowadays? Kooky cults are popping up everywhere, and that most evil book, the Necronomicon, is spoken of in trembling whispers once more.

Detective Don R. Ketype is on the case to retrieve the mysterious evil tome, but unsuspecting librarian Buzz Kerwan stumbles upon it and accidentally transforms his cat, Kitteh, into a walking, talking abomination. Being humanized? Quite a downgrade.

Gibbous is a comedy cosmic horror game - a modern adventure that is classically inspired, features gorgeous HD art, detailed traditional animation, and a lengthy story that will see the three protagonists travel around the world and deal with abominations both cosmic and human-made, voodoo, and Things That Should Not Be. From Lovecraft Country to Transylvania, set off on a quest to get a very cynical cat to stop talking.

• Over 60 hand-painted, detailed environments inspired by Transylvanian architecture and nature;
• Fluid traditional 2d animation with a Disney-esque look and feel;
• Two protagonists and a talking ca--- Okay, three. Three protagonists;
• Upwards of 70 fully voiced, crazy characters;
• Special guest appearance by Doug Cockle, voice of the Witcher;
• Contains most genuine Transylvanian accent in games and media, like, ever;
• Over 4 hours of lush original soundtrack featuring live instruments;
• A lengthy cinematic story that spans continents and more;
• Moment to moment humor, darker arching plot;
• Dynamic lighting, real time reflections and weather system;
• Integrated hint system to help you when you’re stuck;
• Fully animated cartoon cutscenes that punctuate important story beats;
• Over 12,000 voiced dialogue lines;
• Custom voiced responses for all the crazy combinations you can think of;
• Lovingly made near Vlad the Impaler’s birthplace;
• No cutesifying or making fun of the Old Ones, praise their Dark Names;
• Did we mention the talking cat?

Cthulhu meets Lucas Art

I've been really impressed by this game. It's in the point and click vein of Lucas Arts games with whacky arts set in a lovecraftian setting. Some of the writting is a bit over the top sometimes (especially Kitteh's jokes), but the rest is impressive. References to Lovecraft's universe are on point, detailed and do not feel forced which is very rare. A couple of puzzles feel unnecessarily long and tedious for no good reason but the rest is pretty fine. I had to check walkthroughs a couple of time which I expect in this type of game. I've felt quite weird about the mix of genres between deep dark lovecraftian and sometimes childish or wholesome moments. In the end I've felt like the mix was actually as good as it could be. Also really impressed by the quality of the game compared to the size of the team who made it. Anyone who likes Lovecraft universe and Lucas Art should grab this game without a second thought.

Fun Point'N'Click, not too long or hard

Quite traditional style point-and-click adventure. Ability to highlight all objects with spacebar is nice. Just few options on clicking makes it not too complicated. Most puzzles make sense, and do not require any crazy combinations you would normally never think of. I like the detective (Don) character, with his dark noirish attitude. The cat was similarly ok. Buzz was fine even if not that memorable. Would like to see more focused storyline on Don in some followup game, as the switching between multiple chars worked quite ok but I like his character the best. Towards the end the puzzles and the story got a bit weird and I did a bit more of the walkthrough skimming. However, it was quite well in line with Lovercraftian stories so I guess there is that. Graphics, sound, etc. all well done (cartoonish) and fit the storyline good. I like it for not being overly long or difficult, but not quite a breeze to just click through in one go. Overall, I would like to see more similar games from the company. Nice game.

Nice Point n click with a good story

I'm a huge fan of Lucas Arts style point n click, and this game was really nice and a good throwback. I was not expecting too much of the story (haven't read any HP Lovecraft, now I want to) but was surprised by how well it felt in the end (despite some reviews I read beforehand, I thought the ending was good). A nice dose of humor and wit, but enough seriousness to keep you hooked. The gameplay (and graphics) feel familiar enough (it feels like full throttle or curse of monkey island) with some nice quality of life improvements (liked the space bar to reveal interactable objects, so no more hidden object that you missed because it was not well lit enough in a corner of the screen). The puzzles are not too hard, but not too easy (personnally would have liked more difficulty but it still felt nice). I strongly recommend to point n click lovers :)

Fun game with best rap song

I don't usually play adventure games, but this one had some great pixel art, nice music and decent stories and puzzles. It also has two singing moments, which made me laugh out loud, which probably made me add another star to the score. Overall a good game, with the ending leaving place for a sequel.

Nice game

It's a nice game, that's it. The graphics are very good, although some animations while playing could be better. The story is good. It takes inspiration from the Call of Cthulhu, but then takes its own turn, which is a plus point for originality. The humour is nice, but nothing special. I've got the feeling I've been missing many of the references, but most of those I did get were mediocre. Overall, it snatched me a smile here and there, but nothing special. The negative point were the puzzles: too easy. I always knew what to do next, at no point I felt challenged. Some puzzles are just exhausting all the sentences of a conversation, then watch the following cutscene. It would be OK if the story was especially engaging etc. but, as I said, it's nothing special (although it's by no mean bad). Many times I just wanted to skip through. In the end, not a bad game but nothing special either.
