Detective Don R. Ketype is on the case to retrieve the mysterious evil tome, but unsuspecting librarian Buzz Kerwan stumbles upon it and accidentally transforms his cat, Kitteh, into a walking, talking abomination. Being humanized? Quite a downgrade.

I have played more adventures in the last 30 years then i can truly recall, but this one is worth remembering. Not only they got the look & feel of the old Lucas Arts adventures spot-on (which, to me, is the gold standards of this kind of games) but they got their lovecraft lore right too.
To bring this into some sort of useable review -
Pro
* the story is delivered (for me at last) nearly perfect, no hangs or illogical turns.
* riddles are somewhat on the easy side, not a real challenge, but with a bit of thought there one can make it no problem. Not so easy they get boring, mind you.
* graphics are lovely, think the remake of Maniac Mansion style.
* OST rocks. 'nuff said.
* on the tech side, no crashes, hangs, bugs or whatever here.
Con
* ... nah. Really can't think of any.
Final Verdict
You really have to ask ? ;)
And if there comes a sequel, just point me at it.
The writing is witty and fun, the game doesn't take itself seriously, without being a totally forced "look how funny I am" experience, e.g. like in Deponia.
The riddles so far are rather on the easy side, but as a fan of the Cthulhu Mythos, I love the way this game makes fun of it and how it breakes the fourth wall.
Easily one of the best point and clicks I have ever played, both recently and in my youth.
I had one single crash so far, but given that the game saves pretty much every time you pick up, combine or alter an item, I lost no progress whatsoever, so I wouldn't say these are "technical difficulties", seemed like a fluke.
Kudos on an amazing game, that tickles my nostalgia happy spot, but does so without giving itself up, it can stand alone and yet takes me back to the feel I had when playing Broken Sword for the first time.
I can strongly recommend that if you like point and click adventures, or if you want to find out if you do, you pick up this gem, regardless if you are a cthulhu or RPG buff, although, to be fair, you will probably not get the same enjoyment out of it, if you aren't.
Greatly enjoyed this game, it has been a breath of fresh air for me in gaming. Mostly because this type of game is not really done all that often anymore.
So far i only have 2 in game issues with it and it is in regards to its two more difficult puzzles, one is in regards to a pentagram, and the other is in regards to decyphering a crazy guy's gibberish.
both can be easily remedied without lowering their difficulty, for the first a better hint for what you need to do initially because in english it just causes more confusion, and for the second, slightly larger more clear font.
other than those two things i really have no issues with this game and am eagerly awaiting the sequel.
Now with all that said, off to join or create the Cult of Kitteh.
It clearly shows that "Stuck in Attic" poured their herart into making this game. Everything from the immaculate drawn art, to the engaging storyline, smart pussles, quirky characters & atmosphere.
I couldn't get over the Frame by frame animation, which is hand drawn, the self composed soudtrack and the voice acting. Of courrse- the voice acting fell short on some occasions, mainly drawn to the protagonist "Buzz", but other than that, It was fairly humorous and delivered with believability.
Make no mistake: This is a point and click advcenture game. One of those that would normally draw you to the point of insanity when it came to figuring out pussles. You'd sit there screaming out "How the F* was I suppoused to figure that out?!" after you'd look up a walkthrough after giving up at tinkering on a pussle for nearly three hours.
This game does NOT have that issue at all. The pussles all make sense. Everytime I got stuck, i would constantly go "ahhaaaaaa" once i figured it out. I never once looked up a walkthrough, just went with my gut feeling. Pussles and clues are not insanily hard, nor insanely easy- they make you think! And that's the charm of an adventure game in my opinion.
The game is nearly designed to perfection by the love and devotion from the game studio. You have these small "quality of life" features that were implemented. For example:
Double clicking at an area makes your character go there faster, hold down space bar to see every interactive object in the visinity double click the purple arrow to instantly get taken to a new zone.
I truly do LOVE this game. I have not had this much FUN with a game for quite some time. It has a decent length to it and is crafted with so much love that it is impossible to describe. However- Where the game falls flat is: This is a cthulhu game. i expected some more horror elements from this, rather than just comedy.
Other than that: Buy this game. Play it! It is so damn good that I can't even describe it properly!
Great game, looking gorgeous, great musical score!
The only gripe I have with it that sometimes the graphics are too dark, but that could just be my monitor.
Engaging story, lovable characters... If you like cats that is ;)
