Poor controls
Controls do not work well on the PC. I cannot rotation the character most of the time.

Still a stunning game
Fast, funny and still one of the better looking games around. If you don't own it yet, you owe yourself to buy it.

Hated it.
At it's best Giants is an average 3rd person shooter with some absolute crap rts elements thrown in. The level design is nothing special, just some islands with trees and lots of hills you have to fly/jump over or walk around. Base building is torture. Even worse, it is pointless, you never build troops all you do is spend 30 minutes building an item shop which gives you access to the one item you need to complete the level. In between gathering the smarties (your builders) and vimp meat/souls (resources) you will have to defend your base yourself. So I hope you enjoy lots of running back and forth. The game isn't all that difficult, but there are a few areas with loads of enemies that may take a few tries to get through. I was enjoying the meccs campaign until I got to the ridiculous base building level. Delphis' campaign was worse then the meccs simply because the bows were annoying to use and she had several levels where you had to build a base. Her campaign also features 4 race levels that are pretty much crap, I forced myself through 3 of them and skipped the 4th one. I only made it to level 3 of the Kabuto campaign, it was just boring. Kabuto loses health pretty quick for a giant monster and his offspring are not worth the effort of controlling. Cutscenes made me chuckle every now and then. The graphics are decent, pretty good for a 13 year old game.

Perhaps on of the Collest Games of all Time - Giants-Citizen Kabuto
I probably became a Tech Industry Professional some 26 years ago because of games... In the early days I wrote small, voice feedback games and eduware for fun and small profit using Basic, Extended Basic among others. I never will forget when I purchased my first really full featured text interactive game called "Zork" where I fully got lost for weeks and remember nothing but the intricacies of that game. Later another game called "A Mind Forever Voyaging" got me for a couple of months... I think it was 1998 and I was on my annual pilgrimage to Comdex, Las Vegas as the relatively new CEO of a high tech startup (we designed Futuristic Workstations [bluezebra.com/bluezebra.inc]) and ran across a one man demonstration of a new game. The first thing I saw on this large screen (back then a 21" CRT) was this great horned creature jumping up into the air and landing on this little village of stone huts, obliterating it into rubble. I stopped and watched in utter amazement as the demonstrator showed off "Giants" in all it's amazing color and diversity. I knew I would certainly buy it as soon as it was available but I also wanted to show off our Futuristic PCs with this incredibly creative and interesting game. I remember doing "downtime" with my boy Gaelon (3) in my lap as we played for hours, over and over again, Giants-Kabuto, over about a year's time after which the CD became unreadable due to much use and some handling by my young Son. Even today I fondly remember Giants - Citizen Kabuto as probably the most enjoyable game we have ever played. In fact my Boy and I believe we received more entertainment value out of this game then any title we ever played, though certainly Half Life 1 would be a close second. It's just so very cool to me that GOG is offering this title among several other great titles as well as this exceptional, cutting edge service and I'm proud & appreciative to be an early participant with GOG. Awesome job guys and big thanks for bringing back Giants CK, Sher

Old but good
Good story, hysterical antics, great time over all even a quarter century later.
