Put your sword to the test in Ghostrunner Demo here
Ghostrunner is a hardcore FPP slasher packed with lightning-fast action, set in a grim, cyberpunk megastructure. Climb Dharma Tower, humanity’s last shelter, after a world-ending cataclysm. Make your way up from the bottom to the top, confront the tyrannical Keymaster, and take your revenge.
The streets of this tower city are full of violence. Mara the Keymaster rules with an iron fist and little regard for human life.
As resources diminish, the strong prey on the weak and chaos threatens to consume what little order remains. The decisive last stand is coming. A final attempt to set things right before mankind goes over the edge of extinction.
As the most advanced blade fighter ever created, you’re always outnumbered but never outclassed. Slice your enemies with a monomolecular katana, dodge bullets with your superhuman reflexes, and employ a variety of specialized techniques to
prevail.
One-hit one-kill mechanics make combat fast and intense. Use your superior mobility (and frequent checkpoints!) to engage in a never-ending dance with death fearlessly.
Ghostrunner offers a unique single-player experience: fast-paced, violent combat, and an original setting that blends science fiction with post-apocalyptic themes. It tells the story of a world that has already ended and its inhabitants who fight to survive.

Why buy on GOG.COM?
DRM FREE. No activation or online connection required to play.
This game is a sybiosis of Hotline Miami(one hit kill, difficulty) and Mirror's Edge(parkour, dystopian world) with the cyberpunk sauce. This quite unique combination creates one of the greater games this year.
In plus:
-parkour
-challenge but rewarding gameplay,
-graphics even without RT
In minus:
-plot is rather...generic
-short
-sometimes there are places where you loose momentum
Overall I strongly reccomend this game. Absolutely materpiece of his own.
This game is very very good, if you like the cyberpunk aesthetic or the games challengers not are more options, It is a lot of fun, with excellent music and atmosphere, which can be frustrating but is more addictive.
The bad thing about the game is that it is very short, once you have mastered the gameplay, perhaps a DLC would not be bad, and some puzzles but there are very few tedious ones
I would probably give this game better score if they would honestly advertise themselves as git-gud simulator pretending to be a game. But then I wouldn't buy it. Only reason I am giving extra point score is because visuals are pretty nice. Now to the topic, I'll try to point objective flaws.
0. As I said, it is git-gud-simulator.
1. First and foremost, you die in one hit, be it shots or simply electrified floor. No place for error is good for elitism but not for recreational gaming.
2. You survive not only because of skill, but because opponents shoot rather slowly travelling projectiles. I can forgive such moments for Star Wars or any other space opera genre but for game pretending to be cyberpunk one it is ruining any mood. High tech, yeah.. Star Wars projectiles were faster btw.
3. Levels are linear except for secret places unless you count "kill everyone in this small area in order you wish" to be nonlinear. Replayability is like zero.
3.1. Yes, killing everyone is mandatory, you cannot run past or sneak, door just won't open. Linear ^ 2.
3.2. Once you get past starting visuals you will notice level design makes no sense, it is not a world where some people or even something lives, every level is just a puzzle that makes no sense from inside the box. Floating platforms, floating walls grappling wires serving no purpose except to be parts of puzzle.
4. Story is a garbage, and I mean it. I unveiled the "plot" at very second level, and I cannot say I am the brightest person in the world, it is more like protagonist is not spending any effort to think even for a moment. Not only "plot" is predictable, but also boring as well.
5. Cannot say on this one for sure, as I haven't unlocked every upgrade, but from what I saw character progression is lackluster.
If game was made as first person puzzle with obvious "you will fail a lot" message I woudn't complain, but all videos and texts have little to to with actual gameplay that even have deaths counter in hud.
TLDR: Buy the game on sale and try to give yourself some challenges if you think the game is too easy.
» Pros
- The visuals and the atmosphere are great (the music really adds to the game)
- The gameplay is simple but feels great
- The game's difficulty is decent. Hard if you don't play games a lot, normal if you're an average gamer (could be really easy for hardcore gamers)
» Cons
- The game is too short for a 30$ game (maybe we'll have content updates in the future?)
» Mixed
- The replayability isn't really great as you only have the main story to follow and maybe find the collectibles you don't have yet. On the other hand you can challenge yourself by not using any ability or any upgrade.
