Simple metroidvania in one-bit color

It's an OK game - everything works fine, and you can jump and shoot and unlock a few special abilities on the way. It's nice to collect additional health, as the bosses are fairly strong. After you upgrade main gun with all the options, you can just spam it at every enemy, except for the driller one (which needs to hit a wall to be vulnerable at all). It just doesn't shine in any aspect. The limited colors make the environment quite boring after a while (I found myself wishing for orange lava and green frogs), there aren't really any choices to make (you always go forward, only backtrack a few times to pick up hidden palettes or health), music is nothing special. And the ending was unsatisfying. Some rescuer you are, Kiki. From Devolver games, I think I much prefered Downwell.

Gato Roboto

The game is a such a retro nostalgic experience: -Lovely pixel art and smooth animations -Engaging gameplay -Variety of level design -A few bosses to fight -Lots of small enemies -Easy to follow the game structure, you don't get lost -Variety of colour palettes -SFX and Audio, quite good -Can be finished in a weekend -Full Controller support -Made my day !

Short but Sweet

As the title suggests, this game may not have much in the way of content but what content it does have is quite fun. Mechanically solid with quick and easy to use controls, it also never lets up in terms of new mechanics to use or new environmental tools, so you always feel like the action is flowing from moment to moment. Combined with a charming art style and suitable (if at times unmemorable) soundtrack and you have the recipe for a nice little experience. It's only flaw is that by the time it ends you're still looking for more, though I suppose it's better to be good but short rather than long but bad. Realistically I would give it a 3.5/5

Simple and fun

This game works as what you see: a mini metroidvania with a simple pixel art. Some people says it´s too short, but for its price I think it´s ok. I wasn´t expecting a new Hollow Knight but it sure offers more than what you can expect just by looking at it.

Nice short take on the Metroivania style

Nice short take on the Metroidvania style. Completed 100% within 3.5 hours and the map design while quite simple was interesting to navigate. There are a few hidden rooms here and here but not enough to satisfy explorers. No health regeneration from enemies - but plenty of save points to regenerate hit points. Played with keyboard which allows you to remap controls but they always felt wrong / in the way for me (had to remap a few keys couple times) – they felt awkward in particular when performing special moves. Bosses can be frustrating -if- you rush them headlessly (I had to restart one of them in particular quite a few times) but all of them are actually quite easy in retrospect - the last boss in particular felt quite underwhelming seeing that some previous bosses were way harder. The ending is not particularly special but its a nice and simple easily approachable game regardless - it would have been fun to get deeped levels seeing the low level of complexity of the game mechanics and the number of weapons (a main gun and a missile launcher - both with upgraded specs). Replayability is relatively low seeing that the map is quite simple. Maybe if you want to unlock challenges (complete the game without HP pickups or in less than X amount of time etc.) it might worth a replay but as it is the reason to replay for me will be to use a different control scheme (EG. Controller or Steam Deck). Quite happy that this game ended up on GOG! For roughly 5$ - I give this game 4.5/5 - definitively no regrets! Note to developers: The mechanic to jump out of the suit should have been adjusted so that users dont enter it right away if they touch it right after exiting it. Also, while the art is simpler to generate and it reduces costs, only using sets of colors instead of full colors was somewhat of a detriment to the game in my opinion.
