Gangsters: Organized Crime

Honestly this has got to be one of the most fun gangster sims I have ever played. But for those that play more relaxed sim games. Be careful when picking this title up, as there is quite a lot to learn about running a crime family. You will have to get used to planning every move very carefully in order to get the odds stacked in your favor. For example, think your hired thug can simply walk up and shoot a rival thug in the face with a hidden trench gun and walk away clean? No way. You have to make sure the cops are in your pocket in the area otherwise they may very well hunt your crew down. You will also have to keep a sharp eye out on rival families, just because your in an alliance with one does not mean they will stay loyal to the partnership forever. They may try to wipe you out more peacefully then by force. Such as stealing profits from your territory. Trying to bleed you dry and such. Overall, a good gangster sim for those that are looking for a challenge and hours of entertainment. Not to mention, a good game for the price tag it bears.

Just as hard and rewarding as I remembered it being very glad I got it and not a single issue.

This game is unmatched in all these years. To think that a game with this depth was released 16 years ago and nothing has come out to rival it. I played this back in 1998 when it released and saw it on gog.com for sale, I had to snatch it up. It was just as fun and challenging as I remember it. If only there were a modern game with this theme of this quality. This is a MUST BUY.

Have you ever played the game Mafia? Well this game gives you the same stuff, but from a view of a Don. The gameplay is divided between management part and action part every "week" The management part is pretty complex and easy to understand at the same time. The action part is smooth and good looking. It provides you with a hundred ways of leading your criminal organization, from extorting protection money through running illegal businesses up to bank robberies and political influence! Honestly I have never seen a better manager-RTS game. It also has no remake/sequel (Gangsters 2 are of a totally different genere). It looks very good thanks to smooth and detailed graphics. It's a true gem... ...But, it IS challenging. The AI plays very good. And it honestly takes a few "beatings" before you learn how the mafia should be run properly. So if you accept the truly rewarding challenge, this game is for you!

Like a lot of the people here I remember playing this years ago. If you like micromanagement and like a good crime game then this is it. There are some down sides though there is a steep learning curve, and AI is too aggressive unless placed on passive. But other then that its a great game I love setting up illegal businesses and ordering hits:)
