Frostpunk

As someone who plays alot of online competitive games it was nice to Start a single player style game. Its been a while! Ive seen alot of comments leading up to the game and now its out saying its "too short" and has not got enough replay value. first of all it has at least 2 play throughs of each scenario, The faith path and the Order Path. 2paths x 3situations plus more to come in the future. Not to mention the different ways of creating coal and wood etc. As someone who when playing games like this reads all the messages to get the Lore or the story, It was great to go out and explore with my scouts and get these little stories and be able to put it all togther and get a good story, Even after my first playthrough (on medium settings) i didnt get to see all the scout locations and probably missed some of the story but it really drew me in! (will definitely push to see all the messages). The game leaves you in a constant state of panic and suspense as if you were a real person living in the last city, The days get colder and colder in a Staggered Decent reaching a fever pitch (pun intended) towards the last few days of the story. (dont want to spoil the Crazy manic ending). You find yourself Without food some of the time due to Cooking houses not being able to run because of the cold, It can become a problem when everything is working but the cookhouse which does seem to make no sense seeing as its a hot place?!?! Overall the game is really Exciting and the first few times you play through it i would surgest not using speed up all that often and really take in the experience. With all the Mods that i can forsee coming in the future this game is going to be a Solid addition to Town building and Survival RPG games.

It is pretty good game and the hard diffulculty is insane, the thing is though, it lacks scenarios, if it perhaps had 3-5 more scenarios it would have been GOT.

This is a great game since a long time! Survival of your colony is more important than anything else, en you'll have to make important discisions. Good luck for everone else out there, im addicted now :-(

I've been waiting for this piece of art since I've spotted it at the Gamescom, and I restrained myself from watching any playthroughs of the demo, in order to have the best experience, and boy oh boy did I get overwhelemed. Although the content isn't extremely rich, the features are a bit sparse, and you won't spend much more then maybe 200 hours playing this game, it's breathtaking. You won't want to buy this if you're in for rich gameplay features. Don't get me wrong, they're there, but other games will keep you on the hook much longer. No, you'll want to play this game because it's art style and storytelling is breathtaking. The UI elements are perfect, never seen anywhere on the market (although a lot of inspiration probably came from guildwars 2, which they not only improved but perfected). It's tough, it's harsh, it's cold and it's bleak.

The most atmospheric, thought provoking city sim made in a generation, the depression is somehow beautiful, but it leaves you wanting more, hopefully there is be more scenarios and extra game-play modes released soon. There is no flaw in this game that I have found so far, in graphics or game-play, for those looking for a tight, focused game with no overgrown late game or combat distractions. The Devs must however use this release state as a foundation for growth for the current price to really be worth it, as for all its polish, there is a need for either multiplayer or a free-build, more open mode. Play this in the evening, with the sound up, and let the immersion suck you in.
