Frostpunk

A very nice and unforgiving game. My first settlement froze to death, but my second one thrived. The game's atmosphere is amazing with the art style and the music. Truly a gem for people who love simulations and survival games.

First things first: I only played about 2 hours and am about to restart the scenario / camapaign for the third time thanks to the steep learning curve you hit at the beginning, But I didn't restart the game because I got defeated. No. First I just wanted to over-optimize, 2nd time was the Windows version of a Out-Of-Memory-Exception. Which is your system utterly dies. 16GB RAM are (apparently) not enough :-/ OK, about the Game: Sound: If you have a surround sound system, rejoice, you'll get cold winds blowing through all your speakers - right into your cozy & warm dwellings, leaving you to shiver in your comfy chairs. (The music and sound effects are fitting for the theme of the game. And there's proper surround support) Grafics: As seen in the screen shots / trailers. Game runs smoothly on my Geforce GTX 760 with everything set to high. Gameplay: From what I can tell you'll need to think ahead in your decisions a lot. And since you don't know yet what'll be important later on... :-)

Excellent City building/management game. You have to plan your strategy from the very beginning as there is no way you can build and relax as it keeps getting colder and colder, you have to always constantly keep upgrading and getting those needed resourses. Very intense, very dark theme game, a hit from my point of view

Really good city sim. Usually I dont get hooked into sim games, but this one hooked me just fine. The story is pretty cool. The choices doesnt really feel that impactfull though. -1 star because of the choices not feeling like they really matter, and because there is not a survival mode, or more scenarios. Hopefully that will be released soon. I have seen reviews stating that they finished the game in 2 hours. Sure if you count just the main scenario, that might be feasible. But there are 2 other scenarios besides that. You get somewhat of a completion at the end of these other scenarios even if you dont complete the main objectives. But to finish the main scenario, and actually completing the 2 other scenarios AND their side objectives will take some time. Defenitely worth the asking price imo.

Overall, great game! Survive through calamity in a frozen steampunk world. Highly addictive. Need more DLCs!
