Freespace 2

This game was even better then i had deared dream of! I strongly recommend it to all flight simulator fans. The game doesn't stop at flying and attacking. You can (and sometimes really should) change focus on speed, shields and weapons in combat. And commanding wings, escorts, etc all in the heat of battle. If only they would make a FREESPACE 3 for pc, PS4 and Xbox One...

The flight controls are very satisfying, this is a gem, buy it.

Just buy this. Really. Just do it. Then go download the FreeSpace Open Source Project installer, and the MediaVPs. You'll end up with a shiny 'new' space simulator looking like it was written in 2013-ish with great gameplay, graphics, and the whole shebang.

Younger I was really fond of space shooter, and I played every one I could find: X-Wing series, Wing Commander series, I-war, etc. Among all these games, Freespace 2 shines in my memory and took the first place of my personal ranking. The excellent graphics, the dramatic story, the ship design, the weapons sound, the various missions: everything contributes to build a fantastic atmosphere in this game. If you like spacer shooters, you cannot miss Freespace 1 & 2. By the way it would be better to play the first before the second, to avoid Freespace 1 story spoil. But I fear FS1 won't have as well as FS2...

Best space stimulator till the day. I like strategy games, but this makes me very happy in 1999 on my first PC (just when bought it), all the game is like movie and missions are great. Thanks GOG for this game!
