Hands down one of the best space sims of all time. This right here is a console seller! Fantastic graphics for even today, captivating story line, and full control of your destiny. All action! Replay value high!

Up there with X-Wing and TIE Fighter as one of the finest examples of its genre. If you like flying fighters off capital ships and getting into furballs with enemy aces, shooting plasma bolts and missiles, then don't think twice. Just get it.

Anyone remember the wing commander series? The Privateer Series? well this has just as much meaty game play if not more. Get a joystick and a sub woofer for an awsome experiance!

Do you ever have the urge to participate in great space battles? Do enjoy a good story? Do you miss the good old days, the grand era of space sims? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then the freespace series is right for you. It's quick to learn, and hard to master. While dated, the Graphics are still pretty enough to hold their own, and the space combat itself is gripping and unforgiving. In closing, for a few bucks you get a lot of game. It's worth it. When I first played this game I always told myself "Just one more mission", and found myself awake at 3 or 4 in the morning plenty of times, it's that addicting. Enjoy!

this is probally the best space combat simulator of all time ive played alot includeing some of the wing commander series and this supases them. i wish the genre wasnt all but dead and that someone would come out with a freespace three to help wrap the story up and explain things like why the shivians caused a sun to go super nova.
