Description
Three adventurers that have met by chance find the Demon Stone, an ancient prison, just as it breaks before their eyes. The contained evil is unleashed and the two wicked spirits of a Githyanki general and a Slaad lord once again threaten the world.

You take control of three heroes: Rannek the fighter, Illius the sorcerer, and Zhai the rogue. Each of them has his or her own unique set of spells. Switch between them any time you want, using their abilities to your advantage. As you progress through the game, your heroes gain levels, learn new skills and acquire powerful items. You will need them all to have even the slightest chance of defeating the ancient evil you stand against.
A new version of the build, prepared by SNEG and improved for modern operating systems, is available on the "Alternate Version" branch in GOG Galaxy, or via downloadable installers. Go HERE for an explanation of how to access beta channels in GOG Galaxy.

Good experience with minor issues

The game is a good distraction; it's 10 chapters long and plays like many other hack and slash games. It brings nothing new to the table, though it's pretty cool to hear Patrick Stewart and Michael Clarke Duncan among the voice talent. My only issue with the game is that the audio may sometimes cut out during cutscenes. Other than that, I'd recommend buying this game.

Fun game

This game is a nice Hack'n'Slash title. Whoever played the old Lord of the Rings for PlayStation will surely feel familiar, as it was done by the very same devs. There are some technical issues for me, sometimes sound isn't played but subtitles are shown (which I strongly recommend to enable) and it's slightly sluggish to play with mouse&keyboard. (E.g. If you want to change the character in order to buy him gear or upgrade his abilities, you have to press F11/F12. Isn't shown anywhere, but you might wanna know) But I haven't encountered any gamebreaking bugs. You get three different characters with unique abilities and you can upgrade them individually. There are several different chapters to play through and all are done on a various matter - sometimes you just have one character to control. Otherwise you can just jump into one of the characters and use him/her to fight the oncoming hordes or perform a Team-Attack in order to fight back your enemies. Aside from the technical note, if you have a controller, I'd highly recommend this game for short intense fun.

Fun, but short hack and slasher

It's probably nostalgia speaking, but I this this game is really good. The combat is fun and each character has it's own unique abilities. The story is standard DnD fair, but the voice acting is very good and adds a lot to the game. The game is rather short, but if you love hack and slashers, and love Dungeons and dragons, you should check this game out.

Great game, worth buying. However...

Pros: -If you love D&D you will enjoy this game. -Great graphics (originally a PS2 game). -Soundtrack.. oh dat soundtrack (search for the Stand at Mithral Hall in YouTube. Instant eargasm). -Build in action key changer (both for keyboard and controller - kinda buggy, but ok). -Drizzt. 'nuf said. Cons: -Some glitches with easy fixes/workarounds (might need to run the game on compatibility mode, might also need to reset chapters to workaround the sound/voice sync issues... not a big deal) NOTE: You will enjoy the game if you are patient enough, the game is not easy and as mentioned by everybody it has some small bugs but its not that bad. Its a very good port from a PS2 game, it works if you take the time to set it up.

You will quickly forget Demon Stone

Repetitive button mashing, repetitive enemies, repetitive frustration in a few key boss fights. That about sums up my experience with this game. About the only innovation from Demon Stone is the alternating between party members. The fighter/tank has no way to draw and keep aggro, so there are times when the mage is swarmed by mobs, preventing the one party member who can hit the boss from being able to do so. The rogue's stealth combat move is only available on maps that have "shadow" areas, relegating her to a poor melee fighter. There is no replay value to this game. No alternate paths to explore, no leveling options that won't be selected the first time through. Which is fine with me. I couldn't get through this game fast enough. Now that I am done, it is getting uninstalled and forgotten.
