Description
Three adventurers that have met by chance find the Demon Stone, an ancient prison, just as it breaks before their eyes. The contained evil is unleashed and the two wicked spirits of a Githyanki general and a Slaad lord once again threaten the world.

You take control of three heroes: Rannek the fighter, Illius the sorcerer, and Zhai the rogue. Each of them has his or her own unique set of spells. Switch between them any time you want, using their abilities to your advantage. As you progress through the game, your heroes gain levels, learn new skills and acquire powerful items. You will need them all to have even the slightest chance of defeating the ancient evil you stand against.
A new version of the build, prepared by SNEG and improved for modern operating systems, is available on the "Alternate Version" branch in GOG Galaxy, or via downloadable installers. Go HERE for an explanation of how to access beta channels in GOG Galaxy.

For the sake of your Sanity, Avoid

I was decieved by the top review and I write this in the hopes you will not be. This game is a dumpster fire. There are 3 different characters, yes. But they all have the same moveset, except different moves do different amounts of damage. This in no way helps aleviate the repetitive nature of the game because there's 5 different enemys. The RPG elements are all just "bigger number = better" upgrades, there's no interesting choices. And even that part isn't fun because you can't see any of the actual numbers, so it's not like there's interesting builds to be made. Plus the fact that you essentially get enough XP that you always have all the abilities for the different characters. Kinda pointless to make me spend the points, no? Playing on controller is a nightmare because all the in-game text talks about keyboard buttons. Great to know I've got bonus damage to my CTRL attack, which one is that again? Challenging boss fights? No. These are not challening boss fights. These are mind numbingly grindy boss fights where you will spend 15 minutes doing the same patterns over and over again, fighting endless wave of endless wave of ads, until eventually you die to some BS attack because your NPC allies stole all the health potions. Oh, yeah, if you haven't been scared off yet let me talk about our intrepid heroes. 2 out of 3 will always be controlled by the AI. The 2004 dumb as bricks AI. And unluckily for you, half of these fights are impossible if the AI isn't helping you. Remember those endless waves I was talking about? Yeah, what do you think happens if the AI is more intersted in walking into walls than protecting you from endless waves? You have to fight the endless waves yourself. Except they're endless, so how exactly are you going to progress on the boss fight itself? Pray to you favourite forgotten realms deity that the game gives you a lucky break I guess. I got more tilted playing this steaming garbage than I did playing a Dark Souls-like a few days ago.

Complete letdown in every aspect

I own a physical PC copy of this game. I get it to run just fine on Windows 10 and the disc, no issue there. The issue is, however, how poorly the game even runs for me. 5900x, 32GB RAM, Windows 10, 3080Ti, game installed on SSD According to FRAPS, the main menu I get anywhere from around 20-60fps. In actual game play I get anywhere from 6-20fps. The game is a slideshow. The controls are awful, clearly designed for a gamepad such as the Xbox or PS2 (what the game was initially designed for). The camera is awful, you'll find yourself fighting with the camera more than you will with the actual bad guys. The combat is awful. There is zero feedback that you're actually making contact with bad guys. You just swing, swing, swing, swing, swing, swing and swing some more. I'm not really sure what the story is because after a few hours of trying to play through a slideshow I grew tired of the game and stopped playing. Perhaps the digital version plays better on newer hardware or maybe the console copies play better on the Xbox or PS2. The old physical copy runs like crap on today's hardware. My advise, before you pay for this game, read through reviews and see if anyone makes mention of poor performance because it may just be an issue with the PC physical copy, maybe the digital one works properly? In the end, I would suggest to not get this game.

Good old game? Really?

I honestly don't think this qualifies as a "good old game". It's still available for purchase from www.play.com for about 6 euros. A disappointing release.

Salvatore wuz here

If you're a fan of Salvatore then I'd advise you get this. If your kinda "meh" about his writing- but have a soft spot for the HnS genre or DnD, pick it up. It's easily worth the price GoG is charging.
