Description
Three adventurers that have met by chance find the Demon Stone, an ancient prison, just as it breaks before their eyes. The contained evil is unleashed and the two wicked spirits of a Githyanki general and a Slaad lord once again threaten the world.

You take control of three heroes: Rannek the fighter, Illius the sorcerer, and Zhai the rogue. Each of them has his or her own unique set of spells. Switch between them any time you want, using their abilities to your advantage. As you progress through the game, your heroes gain levels, learn new skills and acquire powerful items. You will need them all to have even the slightest chance of defeating the ancient evil you stand against.
A new version of the build, prepared by SNEG and improved for modern operating systems, is available on the "Alternate Version" branch in GOG Galaxy, or via downloadable installers. Go HERE for an explanation of how to access beta channels in GOG Galaxy.

Fun Hack 'n Slash

Demon Stone isn't a challenging game, it doesn't have character customization or plot changes, but it's very good atwhat it does: providing a nice platform for a bit of hack 'n slash gaming.

a chore of a game

If you have a problem with the following espeacilly in combinition, then you should not buy this game: - bad controls - getting swarmed by respawning enemies on small batllegrounds - extreme linear game progression - an excuse for a story - horde mode - a irrelevant level system - stupid ai-partners - frustating battles which last and last and last just because more and more enemies swarm the game... - frustating battles which last and last and last just because the bosses you have to destroy have extreme amounts of health, which in case of death you have to fight again... and those boss battles "can" last espeacially in the last levels... were you mostly don't fight bosses but swarms of enemys and in between you get the chance to harm the bosses hp a little bit until the game decides to send you more enemies... and then the chore starts again honestly I found close to zero fun with the game... the only things I found appealing were the enemy design but just visually not gameplay wise.

Character momement is maddening

OK I understand hack-n-slash... to be fair I hate them...they are for 9 year old's just getting used to gaming IM"A"O. But right off the bat, I could have played except no mouse look. Any game that doesn't allow you to look around with the mouse is so done and obsolete. The mouse turns your character, the WADS moves you...BUT...the camera angels do not move with you very much leaving you to to never know which way to turn. I could have forgiven the lack of mouse look IF this was over the shoulder forced angle and the view turned with it. You have no field of view with monsters often just coming out from off camera right up behind you. No monster targeting...have fun swinging at the thin air. There seems to be a bit of auto turning from your character to a monster if you stop moving for a quick sec but then as soon as you press a key you could turn away again. OPTIONS MENU: Turn on or off subtitles...what more do you need to know...that the only option. Other reviews on here are good but rated too high for the stars. There are way more robust games out there for the price...I'd rather play the original Guantlet.

good hacky fun

It's by the same team that did one of the very hack n slashy Lord of the Rings titles for EA, and it's good but not exceptional. Fun, solid hacking, some light puzzling, and some good dialogue. It's worth playing if you're in the mood for that type of game.

1.7 gigs of nothing

This is a cheap wannabe clone of D&D Heroes and falls quite short of it, just like the other games on GOG that is of the same genre. You only go through it once, because you really don't want to play it again so limited it is. The story is cliché. The game itself if quite boring after a while, very repetitive gameplay. Very little to do in the game aside from fighting.
