A Great Classic

I played this game a few years back and I have to say it's one of the best (Classic) Point-and-Click adventure games. Right up there with Monkey Island. This game is filled with that classic adventure-game humor and the voice and sprite animations are some of the best of that time era. The puzzles, like many of these games, can be a little far-fetched at times but never so difficult that you will be racking your brain for hours and feeling like you are getting no where. The game takes a bit of story from The Island of Dr Moreau and adds it's on plot and interesting twists when and wherever it can, and that is quite often. If you liked the first two Monkey Island games and some of the Indiana PnC games then you won't be disappointing with this classic gem. I can't say anything bad about it because I enjoyed it so much. It genuinely all around a good game

Point And Click Nostalgia

How these 2D pixel games bring out the atmosphere better then 3D these days. Love the atmosphere and the old School gameplay like Discworld games. Brings out the nostalgia.

Enjoyable oldie

Since it is free, I can definitely recommend it. Even if it weren't free, it is still a very solid game. Good story, generally good puzzles, decent voice acting. Well worth the time.

Any Lucasfilm aficionado will love it.

I actually like this game, even more than expected. The plot is simple and quite on the comedy side. It goes like a parody of 80's TV series (à-la Magnum P.I. for example). There are many silly situations, but those series didn't take themselves too seriously in the first place, so you kind of adjust to it. But from time to time they drop a joke that's plain nonsensical and you find yourself laughing at it. I mean, the same joke in a game like Day of the Tentacle wouldn't have the same effect, because the whole game is full of demential humour, but in this game it catches you off guard. The puzzles are quite easy, some of them you just have to talk yourself through. I think I've finished it in one week end, but hey! I got it for free, so I totally enjoy it.

High production value, decent gameplay

This game shows very well with vibrant artwork and strong voice acting. The environments are richly detailed, and it definitely has that 40s action movie flair. Your main hub location is a panoramic view of the main island, which is a nice touch. There is some toilet humor that usually wraps up in the protagonist being too innocent to get the joke, though he's simultaneously shown to be a bit of a ladies man. Another running gag is incorrect stereotypes, such as gorillas or pygmies being in the wrong locale. This is famously taken to an extreme, when you make a gorilla disappear by convincing him he cannot exist in the Amazon. Though not always that bad, there is obscure logic throughout the game. This causes a lot of backtracking to head scratch over puzzles. Plus, you have to page through your inventory and items just persist forever, meaning you will spend a lot of time thumbing through your inventory and experimenting with random items that may be completely useless. I still enjoyed most of my time with this game, and for a free game you cannot deny the value. Worth a try if you're into LucasArts-styled adventure games.
