Fun little beat 'em up
Fun retro-style beat 'em up. My main complaint is the headache inducing lighting. I had to switch off HDR and run the game in the "Opaque" color palette to make it playable. People with epilepsy should stay away from this one.

Modern & Classic
Classic mechanics, only the best of classic enemy types and classic level layout with alternate paths and maps. Modern flow, quality, hit impact, responsiveness of controlls and art style, blended into a pretty well made arcade machine border and screen effect. Highly recommended for beat'em'up fans and people who want to check out the beat'em'up genre, also pretty great for short bursts of play, speed runners and score hunters. You don't need a beefy PC for this game but it still looks great thanks to artstyle and special screen effects (which you can alter if you don't like them).

Excellent Brawler with Lots to Love
The Streets of Rage 2 feel comes back from the unlikely South American nation of Uruguay. It has a great combo system, especially for those characters that can take advantage of it (Gal and F. Norris). The visuals are neat and interesting, but I went into the options and turned off a lot of the extra effects. Some might like it, some might not, but you're free to choose. Accentuating the fantastic retro art is an equally awesome soundtrack by a separate musician. Forgoing much of the house/rave tracks of SoR2, the electric guitar and bass are at the forefront of this piece. They fit the tone of the game well and are a pleasure to listen to, although I haven't quite found anything as catchy as "Go Straight" in here (then again, what is?). There's lots to unlock and challenges to complete as well for the truly masochistic. Finally, if anyone's wondering if the flying kick chick is actually in the game, yes she is. And she's as well endowed and bouncy as you'd hope. Overall, it's absolutely worth retail price and a definite must have for any brawler fan. On any sale at all, I recommend it even to those who don't normally enjoy these kinds of games.
