Unplayable in single player mode
Our hero basic attack - punching air while standing still... Even on C64 basic combos advances character TO enemies. Beacuse of it, there is a zero attack range. All enemies attack you from distance but you cant do the same, unless you jump to them. And of course they can attack you from beyond screen... Graphic are super illegible, you can easily lost track of your character in the screen. Maybe in coop this better...

Good Game Bad Content
So overall this is a good tribute to games like Streets of Rage and Final Fight. It even has lots of menu and UI touches like a fake arcade startup screen and RAM/ROM loading. The gameplay is simple but fun and the throws in front of or behind the character is my favorite mechanic because it's unique and can keep you from getting crowded. What's not so great is the ridiculous sexualization of characters, especially in the case of "Gal" (which I'm assuming is a nod to Final Fight's "Guy". Gal's boobs constantly bounce from her chin to her waist and her portrait on the character selection screen is unnecessarily pervy (is that her labia?!) To me things like that diminish the experience and the game is more than strong enough to stand on it's own without them, but it's a bit unnecessary in my opinion and holding back what otherwise would have been a great game.

Absolute garbage
Those 5 star reviews are obviously from people who dont truely have experience with old school beat em ups or got a hard on from the loli art style. As someone who's been playing beat em ups on SNES since I was 5 years old, this game does not impress me at all. The available moves are extremely limited compared to games that came out 20 years ago (TMNT, Super Double Dragon). You have jump, attack, dash, atk+dash, grapple/throw and a special move that drains your HP regardless of if it connects which is very bad design. You can chain normal attacks with the special move for combos (for no HP loss) but it strongly discourage experimenting because you risk losing HP with a wrong input. The game does not have a story. The backgrounds are very bland and generic. The low quality and quantity of content does not justify the price tag even 50% off. The devs chose to throw in a cheap retro style filter to give the game an old school feel because it's design alone fails to achieve that. If you want a modern beat em up with an old school feel that is actually good check out Mother Russia Bleeds or Bud Spencer & Terence Hill: Slaps and Beans.
