F.E.A.R. Platinum includes the original F.E.A.R. and its two addons: F.E.A.R. Extraction Point and F.E.A.R. Perseus Mandate.
Be the hero in your own cinematic epic of action, tension and terror. A mysterious paramilitary force infiltrates a multi-billion dollar aerospace compound, taking hostages but issuing no demands. The government responds by sending in a Special Forces team only to have them obliterated. Live footage of the massacre shows an inexplicable wave of destruction tearing the soldiers apart. With no other recourse, the elite F.E.A.R. (First Encounter Assault Recon) team is assembled to deal with the extraordinary circumstances. They are given one simple mission: Evaluate the threat and eliminate the intruders at any cost.
F.E.A.R. Extraction Point
Extraction Point kicks off where the original game ended – with a bang. As the helicopter which the F.E.A.R. team is on attempts to leave the vicinity, it instead winds up crashing. The F.E.A.R. team is thus forced to seek out an alternate extraction point, all the way battling the now free Alma and her paranormal minions across a destroyed city.
F.E.A.R. Perseus Mandate
As the first F.E.A.R. team and Delta Force fight for control of the situation, a second F.E.A.R. team is sent in to shed some light on Armacham Technology Corporation's (ATC) dark past. As a member of a secondary F.E.A.R. team, you are brought in to discover more information regarding the secret project at the ATC facilities.

This is game was next level then and reamains so now. Eternal classic of FPS genre. Yes some locals maybe boring, but man this action is somewhat the best I've ever played - smart AI, great graphics and gunplay makes it perfect!
As far as i am concerning, no other first person shooter has a better slow motion system. The fantastic feeling of overcoming the odds and taking out squads as you slip around corners taking them out is like no other. I've played this for well over 100 hours on steam, and I've almost come back for more. Is it dated as all hell and kinda buggy sometimes? Yeah absolutely. Does the game hold up? Absolutely. The only thing that's a bit of a drag is the campaign's pacing. The middle section in Armacham Offices take a huge section of the game. The game is also
Just a heads up you will need some patches and DLLs to make it run on modern machines, alone with more supporterd resolutions. I'd also recommend enabling EAX, especially if you have set up that'll benefit from it. The sound design is immaculate in this game, and it's a pity a bunch of it is locked behind some janky crap from a decade ago. Check PCgamingwiki and you're good to go.
Just don't play Perseus mandate. it's janky and buggy and isn't as fun. Extraction Point is a great expansion, adding more enemies, weapons, areas and mechanics, including punching doors open. The only problem is that once you've played this I don't know what else to recommend. Trepang 2 I suppose, but as of now that's early access.
Mechanically, FEAR is a good bullet-time tactical shooter with a linear structure reminiscent of Half-Life. What elevates it to greatness is the powerful feel of combat created by excellent sound design and blood and particle effects straight out of a John Woo film. This is further enhanced by excellent enemy AI and combat arenas built around multiple interweaving paths.
The game has a wonderfully tense atmosphere created through cutting-edge dynamic lighting and a masterful use of silence and ambient sounds. Still, it's not really a horror game, at least for most of it. They sprinkle hallucinations and the odd jump scare throughout but you quickly learn that they're harmless and you don't even have to look when they happen. It adds a nice horror vibe but it won't really scare you as you play. But that's fine; it means you can still enjoy the game if (like me) you don't like horror.
P.S. I strongly recommend playing on the highest difficulty – it's not that hard (especially with quicksaves) and it really maximises the enemy AI. Also I had screen tearing issues so I'd turn on V-Sync.
Great story, REALLY fun gameplay, and using slow motion is awesome. Easy recommend, great game. If you want to buy the game, and not the other games in the series, this is the best way to buy it. Its an amazing game, and I think any horror/fps fan should play it.
Just an overall great game. The presentation in this game is masterful, something about the game in a way looks odd, in a good way. It just gives this creepy feeling, like something is wrong. This game is action horror, some events in this game got me good the first time. The game contains a lot of dream like and grotesque imagery. And man that opening gives me chills, the music, the camera work, it's just masterful and really sets the tone of the game.
The story is also very good. But if you didn't pay attention and didn't listen to some voice calls in the game the story can easily get confusing. The story does have many twists and turns, and the tone is really dark. I won't spoil anything.
The gameplay is where F.E.A.R truly shines the most. The combat is just insanely good for many reasons:
1. Amazing AI- this game easily has one of the best enemy AI even to this
very day. Replica soldiers will communicate with each other in a realistic
manner and will do a lot of complex actions while in combat.
2. Impactful Shooting- the shooting in this game feels really satisfying, you can
turn an enemy into pool of blood with a shotgun, vaporize enemies with
particle canon and send the enemy flying with explosive weapons. The
sound design is also really good
3. Slow Mo- this is the main mechanic of the game. The reason above is even
better with this. You can watch your enemies fall in slow motion
as you go on a rampage
4. Destructible enviroment- the enviroments in most cases are destructible
You can make giant holes on concrete, things like
paper will fly if shot, glass breaks, dust rises ect...
Combine all this with amazing particle effects
while in mid combat and it adds a whole new
layer of over the top action.
