FTL: Advanced Edition

67+ hours and still lovin it! First few plays I thought stupid, that you can't save the state, as in classic RPG, but then I understood, that this game is NOT to win and never play again, but it focuses on replayability. I still have dozens of approches left, I am only playing on easy difficulty, so I expect this game will last long. Great is that you can play it for a few minutes of hours, you can pause it, you don't need long time to dive back in. Possibly this is the game with best replayability I ever played, far better than Diablo 2!

FTL is one of the best video games I've played. Its simplicity allows one to get a handle of the game relatively quickly and it's easy to play through a game without knocking out an entire evening. Perhaps this is the best part of FTL: being able to start and stop, jump in and jump out of the game without too much investment. Its soundtrack is top notch, the developers are independent and the game is fantastic. Highly recommend.

I only discovered this game recently because I was looking for good space exploration games. I really like the concept of space exploration and managing your spaceship and I usually don't like rogue-likes or beeing forced to make choices due to time constraints, but in this case it is essential for the story and for ressource management. The difficulty of actually making it through the end is pretty high, but it is quite satisfying to see your strategy paying off at some point. You'll definitaly need a couple of runs to test out the possibilities and the essential features of your ship. I would highly recommend the advanced options as the vanilla options are a bit lacking. A bigger galaxy and more variation in the encounters is the only thing I would have liked to see to make it even better.

One of the best games of all time I am going to re-purchase here on gog, and now with portuguese subtitles, i/you can't go wrong. It's Hard, it has no mercy but damn, what a game!

I've spent a lot of hours in this game. Exploring the slightly randomized world and systems one by one is very fun and the short runs make sure the game always stays engaging - failure doesn't feel too bad, I always just had the drive to do better and learn from my mistakes. It's a great case of having many simple systems, that come together to create a complex game.
