Wish it was more 'fun'

The game looks great and provides a wonderful atmosphere. Puzzles are interesting but not very challenging. After about 2 hours the game became a chore of maintaining the vehicle. I stopped playing about 30 minutes later. I'd like to go back just to finish but I just can't bring myself to face that level of tedium again. Developers did everything right in making a short artistic and unique game - but forgot that games are meant to be fun.

It's about the Journey

It's hard to describe this game. It's a long, slow journey across a bleak, empty world for some unknown reason in a weird steam powered boat/car vehicle. It varies between clearing obstacles to proceed, keeping the vehicle going through a simple series of mechanics, and stretches of sailing while watching the world go by. It's almost meditative at times and it feels like this is about a kind of atmospheric experience. There's also some almost terry-gilliamish worldbuilding to be found here and there, enough to make you question the world presented but nothing beyond that. There is gameplay here and while nothing mind bending or mind blowing, it's sufficiently varied to keep from becoming rote over the 3 hours of playtime and prevent the game from being a "walking simulator". It's certainly not for everyone but if you watch the trailer and think you might be interested, check it out.

Quite an enjoyable journey!

We definitely sense the inspiration from Playdead, the studio behind Limbo and Inside and while you won't get a story as involved, as there are no hidden message whatsoever (but maybe I'm wrong), the game remains quite an enjoyable journey to go through (be especially aware of that first screen ;)). The simple graphics are really just perfect for this scale and the ambiance is fantastic, special khudos to the music which is almost absent but is heard at key moments. The puzzles are quite accessible but you'll still get some AH-AH moments because there is almost no text in this and everything is told through game and level design. There is no way to rebind keys and/or buttons but there is an option to go between ZQSD and WASD layouts, the game plays just fine with a gamepad (left sticks, two face buttons and two triggers). TLDR? Short adventure game with accessible puzzles and great mood.
