Description
With the Ultimate Edition, Bethesda Softworks offers you the chance to double-down and get the complete package of New Vegas fun. Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition includes the full suite of highly acclaimed add-on content: Dead Money, Honest Hearts, Old World Blues, and Lonesome Road. To sweeten the pot, you’ll be armed with the latest cache of unique weapons, ammo types and recipes from the most recent add-on packs: Courier’s Stash and Gun Runners Arsenal. Whether you’re a seasoned explorer of the Mojave or playing the game for the first time, you’ll find there are more friends and enemies to make, more consequences to your actions and more opportunities to live in glory or infamy throughout the Wasteland. The choices you make will be as crucial to your survival as ever.

Welcome to Vegas. New Vegas.

It’s the kind of town where you dig your own grave prior to being shot in the head and left for dead… and that’s before things really get ugly. It’s a town of dreamers and desperados being torn apart by warring factions vying for complete control of this desert oasis. It’s a place where the right kind of person with the right kind of weaponry can really make a name for themselves, and make more than an enemy or two along the way. As you battle your way across the heat-blasted Mojave Wasteland, the colossal Hoover Dam, and the neon drenched Vegas Strip, you’ll be introduced to a colorful cast of characters, power-hungry factions, special weapons, mutated creatures, and much more. Choose sides in the upcoming war or declare “winner takes all” and crown yourself the King of New Vegas in this follow-up to the 2008 videogame of the year, Fallout 3.

Enjoy your stay.
  • Feel the Heat in New Vegas!
Not even nuclear fallout could slow the hustle of Sin City. Explore the vast expanses of the desert wastelands – from the small towns dotting the Mojave Wasteland to the bright lights of the New Vegas strip. See the Great Southwest as could only be imagined in Fallout.
  • Feuding Factions, Colorful Characters and a Host of Hostiles!
A war is brewing between rival factions with consequences that will change the lives of all the inhabitants of New Vegas. The choices you make will bring you into contact with countless characters, creatures, allies, and foes, and determine the final explosive outcome of this epic power struggle.
  • New Systems!
Enjoy new additions to Fallout: New Vegas, such as a Companion Wheel that streamlines directing your companions, a Reputation System that tracks the consequences of your actions, and the aptly titled Hardcore Mode to separate the meek from the mighty. Special melee combat moves have been added to bring new meaning to the phrase “up close and personal”. Use V.A.T.S. to pause time in combat, target specific enemy body parts and queue up attacks, or get right to the action using the finely-tuned real-time combat mechanics.
  • An Arsenal of Shiny New Guns!
With double the amount of weapons found in Fallout 3, you’ll have more than enough new and exciting ways to deal with the threats of the wasteland and the locals. In addition, Vault-Tec engineers have devised a new weapons configuration system that lets you tinker with your toys and see the modifications you make in real time.
  • Let it Ride!
In a huge, open world with unlimited options you can see the sights, choose sides, or go it alone. Peacemaker or Hard Case, House Rules, or the Wild Card - it’s all in how you play the game.

So all I needed to do was wait...

Do you know how much I hate Steam? how often I have not been able to continue New vegas because I didn`t have net access and Steam decided I couldn`t play any more? Did I just say how much I hate Steam? Well now it`s on GOG and I can play this game without worry that Steam will say, "Not today!" thankyou Gog and thanks Bethesda for releasing it. And the game? It`s a masterpiece rpg set in a post apocalytic world where you can join factions, disguise as another faction, fight mutated things, deal with interesting quests, shoot guns, use swords, etc, etc, etc - get it.

Rorschach test.

The game begins with a Rorschach test. Look at the ink blots and tell me what you see. That's what this game is. The main storyline is a Rorschach test. You see what you need to see in the factions, people and your own actions. You decide why something the best course of action for everyone else. Buy this game and find out more about yourself.

Quantity AND quality!

I must have done everything there is to do in this game and its expansions. Every sidequest done, all endings seen, every achievement unlocked. I had every unique weapon and armor stashed in the lockers of my safehouse. I could rave on all day about how completed my save was. Do I even need to say it? Buy the game already! :) The main story itself is interesting enough, but it took a LONG time before I first finished it. Most of my fun came from exploring the map, and completing sidequests. I remember when I first played through the questlines (especially the "Come Fly With Me" quest early on left a big impression when I first played). The expansions are also amazing. The three latest ones add massive new areas to explore (Dead Money is more compact, and you can't go back after finishing it. Still worth playing). This is a great deal for the complete package. I got it on launch (for Xbox 360), and it released in a buggy state. It was rough, but it was playable. The worst bugs got patched though. There has never been a better time to play it! The gameplay is also a nice improvement over Fallout 3. It's still not on par with other shooters, but guns are more accurate, and you now have iron sights. You can build your character any way you want. For most of the game, I was hacking up super mutants with my trusty fireaxe, until I finally found the ranger armor (from the game's box art) and went all in on long-range sniping. My character's skills in gambling also paid for the expensive .50 caliber ammo for the rifle. Another awesome aspect is the (optional) hardcore mode. It makes the experience more aimed toward survival, and you regularly need to eat, drink and sleep to stay hydrated, fed and rested. Healing items will also heal over time, instead of instantly, and ammo has weight. This is THE way to play the game in my opinion, but again, it is completely optional if you aren't looking for the extra challenge.

Contendor for the top Fallout game.

It's either this or Fallout 2, and those are such wildly different games you'll probably not have to compare too hard to know which you'd like better. However for the 3D Fallout games all I can say is look no further. Fallout New Vegas takes the work Bethesda did reviving Fallout and gives it a serious RPG shine; there are more weapons to choose from, the karma system is mostly replaced by a reputation system between several very interesting factions in a very rich world, the DLC is simply magical. I really cannot say enough great things about Fallout New Vegas and I'm very pleasantly surprised to wake up seeing it for sale on Gog.

One of Obsidian's best

Having played the Steam version for well over 60 hours and currently going through a heavily modded version, I think I can safely say this is one of my favourite games ever and one of Obsidian's best. Fallout: New Vegas allows for a degree of player control and role-playing that many games fail to match. The main story that starts small and mysterious and evolves into a fight for the fate of New Vegas itself allows for four main endings with many individual branching paths. Each fraction will judge you individually, changing your interactions and choices throughout the experience. The gameplay systems allow for a wide variety of play-styles, from a melee-focused beserker to a sniper clicking heads from hundreds of meters away with your trusty anti-material rifle. The DLCs further expand on the wonderful role-play in the game, and while I find Dead Money (the first) to be weaker and more annoying than the rest in gameplay, they all have wonderful themes and stories, ranging from the tension and dramatic conclusion of Lonesome Road to the hilarious and ridiculous Old World Blues. If you love open world games and story-focused RPGs, you will love Fallout: New Vegas.
