Description
With the Ultimate Edition, Bethesda Softworks offers you the chance to double-down and get the complete package of New Vegas fun. Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition includes the full suite of highly acclaimed add-on content: Dead Money, Honest Hearts, Old World Blues, and Lonesome Road. To sweeten the pot, you’ll be armed with the latest cache of unique weapons, ammo types and recipes from the most recent add-on packs: Courier’s Stash and Gun Runners Arsenal. Whether you’re a seasoned explorer of the Mojave or playing the game for the first time, you’ll find there are more friends and enemies to make, more consequences to your actions and more opportunities to live in glory or infamy throughout the Wasteland. The choices you make will be as crucial to your survival as ever.

Welcome to Vegas. New Vegas.

It’s the kind of town where you dig your own grave prior to being shot in the head and left for dead… and that’s before things really get ugly. It’s a town of dreamers and desperados being torn apart by warring factions vying for complete control of this desert oasis. It’s a place where the right kind of person with the right kind of weaponry can really make a name for themselves, and make more than an enemy or two along the way. As you battle your way across the heat-blasted Mojave Wasteland, the colossal Hoover Dam, and the neon drenched Vegas Strip, you’ll be introduced to a colorful cast of characters, power-hungry factions, special weapons, mutated creatures, and much more. Choose sides in the upcoming war or declare “winner takes all” and crown yourself the King of New Vegas in this follow-up to the 2008 videogame of the year, Fallout 3.

Enjoy your stay.
  • Feel the Heat in New Vegas!
Not even nuclear fallout could slow the hustle of Sin City. Explore the vast expanses of the desert wastelands – from the small towns dotting the Mojave Wasteland to the bright lights of the New Vegas strip. See the Great Southwest as could only be imagined in Fallout.
  • Feuding Factions, Colorful Characters and a Host of Hostiles!
A war is brewing between rival factions with consequences that will change the lives of all the inhabitants of New Vegas. The choices you make will bring you into contact with countless characters, creatures, allies, and foes, and determine the final explosive outcome of this epic power struggle.
  • New Systems!
Enjoy new additions to Fallout: New Vegas, such as a Companion Wheel that streamlines directing your companions, a Reputation System that tracks the consequences of your actions, and the aptly titled Hardcore Mode to separate the meek from the mighty. Special melee combat moves have been added to bring new meaning to the phrase “up close and personal”. Use V.A.T.S. to pause time in combat, target specific enemy body parts and queue up attacks, or get right to the action using the finely-tuned real-time combat mechanics.
  • An Arsenal of Shiny New Guns!
With double the amount of weapons found in Fallout 3, you’ll have more than enough new and exciting ways to deal with the threats of the wasteland and the locals. In addition, Vault-Tec engineers have devised a new weapons configuration system that lets you tinker with your toys and see the modifications you make in real time.
  • Let it Ride!
In a huge, open world with unlimited options you can see the sights, choose sides, or go it alone. Peacemaker or Hard Case, House Rules, or the Wild Card - it’s all in how you play the game.

Some thoughts and tips for FPS players

This is a good game but I'm more of an FPS player than RPG so I think that's why I preferred Fallout 3 I guess the beauty of it is it’s designed to be playable whether you’re mainly an FPS or RPG player. So while F3 does have a lot of plot and choices to make, it felt well balanced, but FNV just seems too plot-heavy for me, with not enough opportunities to step away from the main plot and then return to it. I constantly felt weighed down with the implications of everything I was doing in a way that F3 didn’t do (even though I’m not sure it makes that much difference barring how many enemies you do/don’t want to make). And nothing can replace the brilliant beginning to F3 that sets up that world and the character's life within it. To be fair this game doesn’t even try to set things up, instead it just assumes you’ve already played F3. In some ways, while it has its own DLCs, it almost feels like a large DLC itself and the map felt a little smaller than F3. I did really like two of the expansions – Dead Money and Honest Hearts – in very different ways these maps were really impressive and introduced good new characters. FNV feels overwhelming at first, with the amount of items to pick up and recipes for making things, which feels exponentially expanded since F3. After a while though, I realised I could beat the game, even on its hardest setting, by focussing on what I enjoy, which is problem solving and shooting . So if you’re the same kind of player than me then I’d recommend ignoring all food and drink and allocating no points to survival skills, also no points to melee (unless you enjoy it ofc.) I focussed on building my key skills quickly, including hacking, guns, speech, strength, lockpicking and medicine. And I didn’t use VATS once – it just negates all the fun.

Bad shooter, good RPG

Fallout: New Vegas is an excellent roleplaying game. It is a terrible first person shooter. If you are a fan of quality RPGs and you are willing to overlook the glaring technical issues regarding gunplay and combat in general, the story and writing is so good that you can almost forgive these shortcomings. It isn't the best in the Fallout series, but it is one of the best. I really loved this game when I was younger, but as I've gotten older I find that the core gameplay is largely inexcusable although I was willing to give it a replay because the writing is just that good.

good with the ability to be better

if you are new to these type of games I think you will like it very Very much, but the best thing about FNV on the pc is the huge Modding community that have mods that can change\improve pretty much everything, just do a google search for FNV mods and you will be in business! you can replace the body type of the in-game npc's make the world look better, the list really seems never ending, or if you are the creative type then you can use the G.E.C.K. to make your own quests, npc's or just about anything, this game really is one of the best games out there for modding and tinkering with the game engine. I am really really hoping that GOG will get their hand on SKYRIM one day because I am really not a big fan of STEAM, my fingers are crossed....get this game and download the FalloutModManager (fomm) and then download and install your mods using fomm and enjoy!

How evil will you be?

Highly entertaining. Good replay value. Long game. Many options. It is tempting to be good, but bad is so profitable and convenient. I help nice people, but I also steal everything valuable. Sometimes the game crashes or freezes. I've heard there are mods to help fix this, but it hasn't been often enough for me to bother with mods. Just save manually before doing anything crazy and after equipment management.
