We are very grateful for the amazing attention Fallout London is receiving and want to thank you all for the great feedback! We're working hard to fix the reported technical issues and expect to release an update soon. Thank you for your patience and support!
Many of the reported issues appear to stem from missing one of the installation steps outlined below. While we work on improving the installation experience, please ensure you follow all the steps carefully.
- Team FOLON®
Fallout London is a total conversion mod made by Team FOLON® for Fallout 4 GOTY and requires you to own the base game on either GOG or Steam.
How to install and play Fallout London:
If you own Fallout 4: Game of the Year Edition on Steam, please click here to access the installation's instructions provided by Team FOLON®. You will have to downgrade your version, then install the Fallout: London via our dedicated launcher.
Install Fallout London via GOG GALAXY and launch it.
Follow the launcher’s instructions, and enjoy!
A Polite Disclaimer
In typical imperial British fashion, Fallout: London will take over your Fallout 4 installation. Installing Fallout: London will make irreversible changes to the default Fallout 4: GOTY Edition installation. You’ll also need to disable cloud saves (as the save folder is shared between the game and the mod). If you’d like to play the default Fallout 4: GOTY Edition again, you’ll need to uninstall the game and the mod, and then reinstall Fallout 4: GOTY Edition.
Summary
Fallout: London lets you explore a dishevelled London set in the Fallout universe. It overhauls Fallout 4 with a new story, new weapons, London-centric items and a vast recreation of the ruined city to explore.
Fallout: London is a free total conversion mod for Fallout 4, available to anyone who owns the base game and all of its DLCs. It is developed non-commercially by Team FOLON, many of whom are proud London residents or expats.

After getting out of the train, running a bit on the map getting into the first building, then getting out... Got my 4 or 5 infinite loading screen trying to load the London segment. I quit there since having to force quit the game to load the world space is not OK! Fixing those hangups are force quiting the game and restart. To those infitite loading screens I have had 2 crashes to desktop.
I did a clean new Fallout 4 install, install went great.
Less than 2 hours gameplay 6-7 restarts. As a guy who slow plays games spending over 100h on a single play thru equals 300-400 restarts. 👎👎👎
It is great what the mod community can achieve, but I do not understand how you could release the mod in this state. You can not run Ultra Settings or it will crash directly after the train. Even at low settings it crashes frequently. GOG apparently delayed the release for quality purposes? I can not see it how it could have been worse before.
The gameplay is also unpolished at times because it makes use of some Fallout engine weak points like ladder/object climbing or swimming/running on planks in Thameshaven. You get stuck in the water or on Edges and suffer from RAD way more than you intend. On the ship with Ferryman, you cannot save/load for some reason, resulting in a super frustrating scene needing to be replayed from the beginning when you die. Ammunition is rare and expensive so I usually used Melee combat, but the enemies just smack you over and over when you come close. Right click is some form of block? Could not execute it because they wont stop stunning you with their weapon melee.
The quest markers are also super confusing at times, like finding Rachel after helping Ferryman.
There are other bugs like when I entered a house and went back out, the main quest NPC would not talk to me anymore. Or vertex explosion of my armor.
Finally, the installation is super annoying if you do not have Fallout on GOG.
To make one thing clear: Give the mod a chance, maybe you don't have the same problems as me or others.
At the same time, you also need to give yourself some breathing space. The team has withdrawn the mod because the ‘next-gen’ update came, then they release the mod now, give appropriate instructions and have to downgrade ‘Fallout 4’ first. Chopped off and okay. You state that the game works without any other mod, but this is exactly the problem. If you follow the actual instructions, the game ends up in an ‘endless’ loading loop for me. If you follow all the other tutorials: it stays that way.
I have now reinstalled Fallout 4 4 times and the result is always the same. I have installed recommended mods, I have manipulated the ini and adjusted it accordingly. Nothing works.
Even if this is a voluntary project and you have to be grateful to the developers. This modification is currently a technical disaster and should be labelled as such. A lot still needs to be done here and the whole installation routine needs to be reconsidered.
You should also get in touch with the other mod developers and build a version that works, i.e. include the mods that fix most of the problems.
The team here has been too secretive, too promotional and they have to be judged by their own words.
Wow. SOOOO many bugs. Crashes. So you go to get support and they want you to fill up your hard drive with about a million OTHER mods to go along with this. Each mod that I was told would fix my game required at least 2 other mods to be installed. I was so excited for this and this launch was worse than Fallout 76 and the upgrade to Fallout 4 combined. I gave both of those another chance but NOT THIS. Include everything that is needed or don't put it out. Period Dot.
