We are very grateful for the amazing attention Fallout London is receiving and want to thank you all for the great feedback! We're working hard to fix the reported technical issues and expect to release an update soon. Thank you for your patience and support!
Many of the reported issues appear to stem from missing one of the installation steps outlined below. While we work on improving the installation experience, please ensure you follow all the steps carefully.
- Team FOLON®
Fallout London is a total conversion mod made by Team FOLON® for Fallout 4 GOTY and requires you to own the base game on either GOG or Steam.
How to install and play Fallout London:
If you own Fallout 4: Game of the Year Edition on Steam, please click here to access the installation's instructions provided by Team FOLON®. You will have to downgrade your version, then install the Fallout: London via our dedicated launcher.
Install Fallout London via GOG GALAXY and launch it.
Follow the launcher’s instructions, and enjoy!
A Polite Disclaimer
In typical imperial British fashion, Fallout: London will take over your Fallout 4 installation. Installing Fallout: London will make irreversible changes to the default Fallout 4: GOTY Edition installation. You’ll also need to disable cloud saves (as the save folder is shared between the game and the mod). If you’d like to play the default Fallout 4: GOTY Edition again, you’ll need to uninstall the game and the mod, and then reinstall Fallout 4: GOTY Edition.
Summary
Fallout: London lets you explore a dishevelled London set in the Fallout universe. It overhauls Fallout 4 with a new story, new weapons, London-centric items and a vast recreation of the ruined city to explore.
Fallout: London is a free total conversion mod for Fallout 4, available to anyone who owns the base game and all of its DLCs. It is developed non-commercially by Team FOLON, many of whom are proud London residents or expats.

That's it. That's all that's needed. Game runs brilliantly and the sheer scope of it all is beautiful ❤️
Impressive but extremely buggy and unpolished. Would have been better as a project released in stages so users could test each stage and give feedback. As released majority of users have a crash before getting out of the starting area.
I really respect the work that all these modders have put into this project and I hope it shows my admiration that I feel the need to critique this as if it was its own game as opposed to a mod. I have also only put in about four hours into the game, so take this all with a grain of salt.
First of all, the level design and overall world is really well done. This is one of the biggest strengths of Bethesda games I find and surprisingly the modders have been able to almost match and sometimes surpass that bar. The environments are very cool to explore and often feel quite densely detailed. Furthermore, there is lot's of environmental storytelling with lived-in areas now abandoned and old notes and terminals to find which I love.
Another incredible thing is that the characters feel as if they were in a professional game. The voice acting quality is indistinguishable if not sometimes better than the quality of actually bethesda releases. Also the writing for the most part holds up and even has more stat-based than Fallout 4. However, it often falls prone to the same problems of Fallout 4 in that many dialogue options lead to a single pathway.
Now, with all that in mind, there is a large problem that stops me from wanting to play the mod.
Basically, while I admire that the map is so large and detailed, that detail is often static and I wish they would've shrunk the map two to four times, to increase the density of loot. Exploring the world often ends up feeling quite boring, because although there is plot detail, there is next to no loot other than junk and I have been running around for four hours with seven bullets. I understand that it probably takes time to place loot which is why I wish the map had been smaller if size was the issue. As it stands, the mod stops being fun because I am finding cool quests I want to do but I only have some basic armor and a knife that I can use to do any of these quests which becomes quite boring.
I hope this can be fixed.
do not get me wrong a lot of work was done on this, but expect massive audio issues as well as some other issues as well...
(i use Linux Mint, never had these issues with base game, except some loading time issues before it was updated)
pros:
- looks great, custom bobbles/doodads/misc.
- uses its own custom meshes/textures/etc.
- videos are custom and well done
- VO work (where it can be heard is excellent)
cons:
- shading is wonky at best when using the "torch"
- audio does not work worth shit (taking the piss?)
- the radshrew looks like it is right out of something from half-life episode 2 with the weird layered reflections...
- get overlapping texture flashing
- load times are insane (part of this is carried over from base game i am sure)
- some things do not make much sense, such as desks that should be able to interact with do not show up as such... search/loot/open/container.
- not sure why if when they put so much effort in they did not do a standalone but instead decided to make it a total conversion mod, just does not make sense.
after a while the game crashed and now the intro/new game is completely fubar...
it should not take a full minute or more to load into a different area, its insane...
make a stand alone version, that way you can make sure that the behavior is much more consistent.
the start stats seem low, i guess they are trying to stay true to the original games?
should setup a custom skills like original games, if they want to stay true to originals...
the biggest and most annoying issue is the sound not working right....
