Fallout: London

if you like fallout 4, you will love fallout london. it's not a mod - it is a total conversion. basically a new game that uses the fallout 4 engine. it is huge, it is wonderfully crafted, voice-acting is excellent... but under the hood you notice, that a relatively small team was working on this project. the technical problems are obvious. fallout 4 was not really known as a very stable game - crash-to-desktop could always happen. in fallout london, this is worse. sometimes i can play for an hour or even more. but sometimes i crash 3 to 4 times shortly in a row when i enter a new area. fast travel is kind of a gamble - you learn to always quick-save before fast travel. the settlements are kind of broken - building in london bridge is a massive pain in the ass. and the amount of empty ammo boxes and inaccessible doors is staggering - sometimes it feels, as if the devs are actively mocking me. in the end, you need quite some patience. but then you are rewarded with a game, that can't hide its origin as a fan-made project, but still beats some triple-a titles (and i have seen some full-price titles in far worse state at release).

I don't usually write reviews but I genuinely hope the team behind this mod reads this. This was one of the best gaming experiences I have ever had. Almost all of the aspects of the mod are drastic improvements on the base game, and the story was leagues above Fallout 4's. The game did crash at least once per session, but I'm used to that from playing Fallout 4. Overall this was an absolute 10/10 experience and I'm super excited to see what Team FOLON has in store.

Ok, so about 50hrs in this game I noticed reviews section of fallout london and score of 3.6. I don't agree. Keep in mind that if you are not willing to invest 15-20min in googling what needs to be installed to make this crashless and using your head for a bit to know what to install, since there is old and new fallout 4 versions.(thanks bethesda) You will be among a bunch of people giving this game a low score. It's a free game, Innit, put in some effort m8 The OG fallout experience, you explore shit, find random places, see most extreme and most hilarious. I just really missed this kind of a game, that lets you just walk around and see the little stories and assemble them into a greater picture, give you equally big dillemas on quests and on what to wear. I really liked that Commodore-s hat and postmans uniform. Bosses are good, locations are unique, in some I literally got lost how big they are. Loads of unique encounters etc... If you liked NV, you will love this. From what i've played and seen, I'd say Its bigger than any fallout before it. Downsides are the crashes, but that is resolvable with a little effort.(first intro crashes are inevitable from what i gathered, but with one or two realoads you can go through it) Some locations are unfinished, so sometimes you just enter a location that just looks unfinished. But that again , is like 5% of all places. Some quests do end up being confusing and not clear on what you need to do or where to find. But are rare enough that you can google them or just go do one of hundreds of others that are out there. I'm overall super happy with the game, FOLON team did an amazing job and thank you for this amazing fallout game. This really puts in perspective how much of a fuckup Bethesda is, since we got this for free, and I can play it in 4k. I can't do that with base fallout 4 lol

This is one of the best Fallout games ever made. And it's a mod. Congratulations and best of luck to the team behind this masterpiece.

Professional quality of every aspect of this FO4 reskin blew me away. Arguably the best Fallout content I've played since New Vegas. 10/10!
