We are very grateful for the amazing attention Fallout London is receiving and want to thank you all for the great feedback! We're working hard to fix the reported technical issues and expect to release an update soon. Thank you for your patience and support!
Many of the reported issues appear to stem from missing one of the installation steps outlined below. While we work on improving the installation experience, please ensure you follow all the steps carefully.
- Team FOLON®
Fallout London is a total conversion mod made by Team FOLON® for Fallout 4 GOTY and requires you to own the base game on either GOG or Steam.
In typical imperial British fashion, Fallout: London will take over your Fallout 4 installation. Installing Fallout: London will make irreversible changes to the default Fallout 4: GOTY Edition installation. You’ll also need to disable cloud saves (as the save folder is shared between the game and the mod). If you’d like to play the default Fallout 4: GOTY Edition again, you’ll need to uninstall the game and the mod, and then reinstall Fallout 4: GOTY Edition.
Fallout: London lets you explore a dishevelled London set in the Fallout universe. It overhauls Fallout 4 with a new story, new weapons, London-centric items and a vast recreation of the ruined city to explore.
Fallout: London is a free total conversion mod for Fallout 4, available to anyone who owns the base game and all of its DLCs. It is developed non-commercially by Team FOLON, many of whom are proud London residents or expats.
There has never been a better time to sample the capital’s delights! Fallout: London lets you explore the wonders of the city 160 years after the bombs have dropped, and 40 years before the events of Fallout 3. You can now reimagine Fallout in a London-centric universe, interacting with a brave new world of London-based locations, stories, factions, creatures, weapons, and gameplay mechanics.
The Gentry-dominated London stands on a knife-edge, and you may be the key to which way the guillotine falls. Play a new story set in London with a fresh character beginning, numerous conflicting factions to engage with and multiple story paths and endings with up to 90 hours of gameplay. Just be aware of what terrible secrets you may uncover in the shadowy gaps amidst the halls of power.
Discover new weapons, creatures, clothing, items, collectables, architecture, foliage and NPCs to complete the London setting. Interact through the world with your custom Atta-boy, with a fresh interface based on the UK’s life-saving Protect and Survive nuclear information campaign.

Better than some would have you believe
I've been playing Fallout London in its current state (i.e. when it was first released), and I have followed the instructions for the Steam installation, including downgrade etc., and have installed most of the recommended mods (better blood textures, Buffout, etc.) Result: - no feared train crash - overall quite stable experience - yes, there are crashes, notably on some fast travel (Thameshaven market has been the one for me), but yesterday I played for about 4 hours, traveling and fast traveling, entering various locations, completing quests, and NOT A SINGLE CRASH Mind you, this is a volunteer project! I'm now about 25 hours into the game, following the main storyline. About the gameplay: - it is definitely harder than Fallout 4, so I did not go with Survival Mode right out of the gate (and also because of the possibility of crashes) - ammo is scarce the first few hours; it gets better once you fight human enemies more often - the storyline is decent; so far, no crazy twists. The quests feel a lot less generic than many in Fallout 4, so great job on that one to the team! - Settlements: I haven't found one yet. Seriously. So that's a bit annoying, as I would like one convenient place to dump my junk. (Small spoiler: I have been using the workbenches in Thameshaven Market and by the Thameshaven Docks, where the ferryman is, because these are the most useful ones for early upgrades) - Do explore, but be careful. Following the storyline, I have encountered the odd enemy that would have crushed me if I hadn't found better gear while going off track earlier. So keep that in mind. My summary: Fantastic job of the devs, and I am looking forward to the first patch. Possible improvements might be to have beds earlier (Survival mode!), and maybe access to a settlement earlier. (Although I don't know if the lack of access to settlements will make more sense down the road.)

The best way to describe this is to say that: Fallout London is to Fallout 4, what New Vegas was to Fallout 3. It takes everything 4 does but expands on it. The factions are interesting, the world space is expansive and detailed. There's a lot more visual storytelling than 4, and a lot of the quests require you to pay attention to visual clues around you, rather than looking at the compass. The game is also far more difficulty due to the lack of ammo and requiring melee - especially early game.

absolutely phenomenal
its good, its great, its better than great, its folon. the gameplay is pretty classic fallout, the weapon and armor balance and variety is pretty good. wandering the streets is amazing, its grimy, dark, rainy, its london-y. finding all the references that make me chuckle has been incredibly satisfying, even as a non brit. its a new fallout game, plain and simple, the wonder of exploration, finding a new gun that youve never seen before, debating a severed head in a robot, its got it all technical issues are incredibly common, but there is troubleshooting and constant support by devs and players alike im already 25 hours deep in, and i dont even think ive scratched the surface of all there is to do and see. i urge any fallout fans: give london a try

Magnificent! A Project to Hold Out For!
I have just begun my journey into Fallout: London, and although it has craches twice at the end of the train ride, I am keen to see what happens and will wait for it to be patched, subject to finding a solution in the mean-time. The detail is outstanding, as a Brit in my 40s, I can see so many references. The telephone box is a British cliche, but the black litter bins are a great touch! The 'jingle' even sounds like an old early-hours educational program opening. What a joy. If you backed this, then bravo to you and the faith you have had, FOLON are a breath of fresh air and have given the British a voice in Fallout's global lore. It has an feel of World War II London, with a Britified Fallout Universe thrown in. Love it, here's to the future! Heed this creation, Bethesda!
