With Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition, experience the most acclaimed game of 2008 like never before. Create a character of your choosing and descend into an awe-inspiring, post-apocalyptic world where every minute is a fight for survival. Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition includes all five of the Fallout 3 Game Add-on Packs:
Operation: Anchorage - Enter a military simulation and fight in the liberation of Anchorage, Alaska from its Chinese Communist invaders.
The Pitt - Travel to the post-apocalyptic remains of Pittsburgh and become embroiled in a conflict between slaves and their Raider masters.
Broken Steel - Increase your level cap to 30, and finish the fight against the Enclave remnants alongside Liberty Prime.
Point Lookout - Embark on a mysterious and open-ended adventure in a huge, murky swampland along the coast of Maryland.
Mothership Zeta - Defy hostile alien abductors and fight your way off of the alien mothership, orbiting miles above the Capital Wasteland.
Main Features:
Limitless Freedom - Take in the sights and sounds of the vast Capital Wasteland! See the great monuments of the United States lying in post-apocalyptic ruin! You make the choices that define you and change the world. Just keep an eye on your Rad Meter!
Experience S.P.E.C.I.A.L. - Vault-Tec engineers bring you the latest in human ability simulation — the SPECIAL Character System! Utilizing new breakthroughs in points-based ability representation, SPECIAL affords unlimited customization of your character. Also included are dozens of unique skills and perks to choose from, each with a dazzling variety of effects!
Fantastic New Views - The wizards at Vault-Tec have done it again! No longer constrained to just one view, experience the world from 1st or 3rd person perspective. Customize your view with the touch of a button!
The Power of Choice - Feeling like a dastardly villain today, or a Good Samaritan? Pick a side or walk the line, as every situation can be dealt with in many different ways. Talk out your problems in a civilized fashion, or just flash your Plasma Rifle.
Blast 'Em Away With V.A.T.S. - Even the odds in combat with the Vault-Tec Assisted Targeting System for your Pip-Boy Model 3000! V.A.T.S. allows you to pause time in combat, target specific body parts on your target, queue up attacks, and let Vault-Tec take out your aggression for you. Rain death and destruction in an all-new cinematic presentation.
Mind-Blowing Artificial Intelligence - At Vault-Tec, we realize that the key to reviving civilization after a global nuclear war is people. Our best minds pooled their efforts to produce an advanced version of Radiant AI, America's First Choice in Human Interaction Simulation. Facial expressions, gestures, unique dialog, and lifelike behavior are brought together with stunning results by the latest in Vault-Tec technology.
Eye-Popping Prettiness* - Witness the harsh realities of nuclear fallout rendered like never before in modern super-deluxe HD graphics. From the barren Wasteland, to the danger-filled offices and metro tunnels of DC, to the hideous rotten flesh of a mutant's face. *Protective Eyewear Encouraged.
Even Fallout Tactics has more in common with Fallout 1 & 2 than this short stupid FPS. Just because you add exp to a FPS game it doesn't make it RPG. This is just another bad FPS game that takes beloved classic name to cash on it (like all new tomb riders).
FIVE STARS and the subject line says "horrible"?!
I'll keep it short: Get this and New Vegas, download Tale of Two Wastelands. While installing, keep the balances introduced by New Vegas. The game (now a mod) then launches from FNV. Then mod everything else to your liking. Congratulations, your head-canon just got a lot wider, plus your arsenal from FO3 can now be carried over to FNV!
Playing this standalone? Nah. The story is lackluster at best, the dialogue is poorly written, the animations are... horrid, and everything else is an unbalanced mess. If you can't fix the story, might as well let FNV's base mechanics and mod enhancements take over.
Compared to others in the series (Fallout 1, 2 and New Vegas) this game is complete shite. It's writing is so minimal and unrealistic to the point of constant frustration. Most of the sidequests aren't very special and there are a total of 19 actual side quests (there being unmarked ones but they are more collectible tasks rather than quests. Some of the sidequests are okay, however, I will use One example of a side quest to explain why this whole game is garbage.
The power of the Atom: This quest is the choice whether or not to destroy an entire town of regular down to earth individuals. Are you fucking kidding me, that is the stupidest thing ever I have ever heard. If you choose to blow up the town, you get a slightly nicer house, and more money, however, you get bad karma, if you disarm the bomb, you get good karma and a shitty house, with less money. First I will discuss the Karma system. In a game like Fable, an objective karma system works where if you do bad things you are bad, and you grow horns and people won't like you and the objective karma also works because it is an unrealistic fantasy game where you shoot fireballs out of your hand. However, Fallout as a realistic post-apocalyptic RPG doesn't work with this. Considering the first two games had very trying moral questions, I will give an example of this of course. There is a town called Junktown, there is a sheriff, and he's a nice guy and he thinks that the local casino owner sent someone to kill him because the casino owner wants to commit crimes and get rid of the restrictions and let his business grow. Upon seeing the casino owner on this issue you can choose to side with the casino owner or bug his office and get him arrested. Essentially the choice is, do you want to do something that is more lawful or, do you want to kill the sheriff, so the casino owner can grow his business and town can prosper further. The one here, is "DO YOU WANT TO BLOW UP TOWN" It's so idiotic. Just walk around.
Reading the reviews, I thought, great, GOG comes through, eliminating the bs I go through with Steam games that don't work. what a load of carp. immediately failed for lack of gfwl, have tried everything possible to get around it, i am so sick of falling for this bs again. what's worse than being a huge ripoff, like Steam? being a huge ripoff while pretending to be the antidote to Steam. Good bye, GoG
