Buyer Beware

This doesn't run, I'm not sure if it's Windows 10 or the fact I've got an Nvidia GPU but either way Fallout 3 doesn't work for me. Googling the situation indicates this problem affects a vast amount of other users. Unless you are certain this will run on your hardware, do not buy. For myself there was nothing to indicate it wouldn't work, and as this is GOG I was complacent in believing the game would work right out of the box. Lesson learned.

Still fun to play after all those years!

I have to admit i have been playing Fallout NV a lot more than Fallout 3. This was mainly because Fallout 3 has been known for it's launch problem issues. The Steam version certainly gave me a headache in the past to get it running and would still cause problems even after 'fixing it'. I hesitated a bit to purchase the GOG version, since there still seem to be people having issues to launch (which are fixable i think). But so far for me there have been no issues at all playing it on windows 10. I only get a warning in the beginning that it may not work correctly, but after pressing continue i can just go boot it up and explore the wasteland. No crashes or stuttering after roughly playing for 9 hours so far.

I think I'm falling in love with Fallout

Excelent game, I was never bored exploring the whole world, lore and story were...quite good, I think I'm gonna buy some more Fallout games

Works like a charm!

I initially tried buying this game on steam, but no matter what workaround I tried, it wouldn't go past the start menu. This version has worked beautifully without any bugs or glitches! I couldn't recommend it more.

WIN10 GAME CRASH WHEN PRESSING PLAY FIX

Click on search bar, type ransomware, open ransomware protection, click on block history, in the list you can select what was recently blocked and you will see fallout 3 exe and the launcher blocked. allow it. or you can select controlled folder access settings, allow an app through controlled folder access, press add an allowed app, press recently blocked apps or all apps, add it to the list of exceptions. or you can turn off controlled folder access altogether. up to you. this fixed the game and it works. both gog and steam versions.
