the heights of stupidity
That people rate it at five stars is a travesty - they must enjoy the abysmal writing and lackluster story and come into this world to satisfy the need to explore it and shoot some teddy bears from their junk launchers. Don't get me wrong, I played and finished this game when it released and wandering the wastes can be an OK experience but cringe level gets off the charts more often then not. I would award a star or two for atmospheric and hard to navigate city ruins and music but other dev choices (post-apocalyptic vampires, Little Lamplight, DLC Operation Anchorage - hey, we can convert this game into a bad FPS, check it out, oh and enjoy a power armour even at the start of your game (same as F4); no logic nor reason whatsoever: everybody lives in shacks as if years haven't passed since the apocalypse, atomic explosions create a few seconds of radiation wheras water is irradiated forever; few quests and most of them mortifingly boring and stupid). To call this game Fallout is a slap to the face of all the fans of 1, 2 and even Tactics. Compare it with New Vegas and you will see how an RPG should be designed and written. Sadly people buy into this trend of dumbed down RPGs with SIMS-like Fallout 4 and a disaster of a game of Fallout 76. Luckily we have some oldies to play which are way better - and many of them done by the infamous Bethesda.
