Fallout

I finally decided to try this classic game. The graphics and user interface are very dated, but not deal breakers. It has a good story, great art and concept, and a dark sense of humor. So far so good. The dealbreaker for me is the numerous bugs. User interface features, such as indicators to tell you when you are or are not in Stealth mode, routinely stop working, necessitating a client restart. Switch away to read the manual and there is no switching back without going into the dark recesses of the Process List in Task Manager. That might be livable, even, were it not for the entirely broken combat system. Enemies routinely shoot through multiple "solid" obstacles, such as multiple layers of walls inside buildings (no I don't mean windows), eliminating any concept of tactics. At first, I thought maybe it was just one map, but then it kept happening again and again. Oh well... time to look for something else.

Someone said all children are removed and all drugs are called chems, but THAT'S HOW THE GAME WAS DESIGNED. They didn't change that. Idk about everything else, but THOSE things are how the game ALWAYS WAS. I can't speak to anything else because I haven't played their copy yet, but just wanted to say that

I think, a lot of people will support me: Many fans of Fallout want to remember this happy hours, when they played Fallout. But, a lot of them have a Mac, and they don't have this opportunity to play Fallout. We don't want to use other ways, such as emulation and other, we want to play in normal version of this game, with the minimum bugs. We are waiting for Fallout. And we will wait it, as some fans HL wait for HL3. :)

While still better than any Fallout Bethesda crapped out I found this rather a tedious slog of a game to get through. I also met a game breaking bug regarding the first (time limited) quest that made it impossible to go on. Since I had no prior saves the only solution would have been to restart. Hard pass. It might have been good at the time it came out, but everything about it is unappealing nowadays. I also don't care for the out of place "humor" of the game.
