Description
Factorio is a game in which you build and maintain factories. You will be mining resources, researching technologies, building infrastructure, automating production and fighting enemies. In the beginning you will find yourself chopping trees, mining ores and crafting mechanical arms and transport belts by hand, but in short time you can become an industrial powerhouse, with huge solar fields, oil refining and cracking, manufacture and deployment of construction and logistic robots, all for your resource needs. However this heavy exploitation of the planet's resources does not sit nicely with the locals, so you will have to be prepared to defend yourself and your machine empire.

Join forces with other players in cooperative Multiplayer, create huge factories, collaborate and delegate tasks between you and your friends. Add mods to increase your enjoyment, from small tweak and helper mods to complete game overhauls, Factorio's ground-up Modding support has allowed content creators from around the world to design interesting and innovative features. While the core gameplay is in the form of the freeplay scenario, there are a range of interesting challenges in the form of the Scenario pack, available as free DLC. If you don't find any maps or scenarios you enjoy, you can create your own with the in-game Map Editor, place down entities, enemies, and terrain in any way you like, and even add your own custom script to make for interesting gameplay.

Note: This game may require additional serial key for multiplayer mode. In case it is not automatically generated in your GOG.com library (open it via website → select the game → More → Serial Keys), please reach out to our Support team.

Puzzle game

I like this game but it can be very complicated to solve in the beginning. Soooooo many small problems/connections that have to connect perfectly together.

Top Tier Economy Management Game

This is one of the most intricate, fun, and well-designed economic management games I have ever played. There is no limit to how large your factory can become as you churn out more and more items to build more and more machines. I have sunk over 1000 hours into this one and will play many more. 10/10

Greatest game since tertis on gameboy

I bought the game on steam and switched to the DRM free version via the website for no additional cost. I had nearly 1000 hrs on my clock when I switched and lost track then. I can't remember having seen that awesome developers. They're more than active, share knowledge and inside in wiki, forum and blog. Try the free demo (~20hrs !) to get a feeling of what will await. Dive into a friendly and helpful community. And prepare to spend your time. A lot of it.

An endless source of joy

Get the free demo, then try the game, then come back and buy it because this is one of the best value for money deals you can ever get in this market. Factorio has easily gotten a hold of my time and priorities. Married people and/or parents: fair warning! This game will drain your schedule and upset your social life. You are stranded on an alien world. You only have your basic tools and technology. You start mining resources with dreams of manufacturing a vessel to help you get back to civilization. Soon, you will start making things, that will help you make more advanced things, that will automate the making of old things, all the while deciding your own path through tech evolution, your energy needs and firepower. Yes, you will need defenses in place, because there are some living things that will try to stop your sprint towards domination over nature, with their agile bodies and their fangs and their teeth. Because nobody likes the tree cutting and the pollution you're causing. Plus, it will take some time to set yourself up with some nice, "clean", nuclear power. Factorio is a mix of RTS/city building/puzzle/choose your own adventure kind of game where I have invested more than 500 hours in and I'm recomending it to anyone with even a slight preference to the genres I just mentioned. The price to fun ratio is ridiculous.

Worth every pennies

TL-DR: I recommend, countless hours of gameplay (over 100 easely), manageble learning curve, easy install, no graphics card needed. Finally bought it after hearing the devs don't intend to put it on sale anytime soon (ever)... Whoa, just watching the trailer doesn't do it justice... it is really a pleasure to play: -install file on windows and Linux are easy to use, no problems arose. -runs fine on integrated graphics (of second gen i3), at least for the early and middle game (haven't yet reached late game) -tutorial is good enough... they chose not to explain everything so it wouldn't last for ever, so you have to teach yourself most of the middle/late game (which i believe is intentional for this type of game). -game-play is great if you like tinkering stuff. controls are responsive. the main mechanics of the game, "automate production of everything when you can", means you don't actually grind much if you play the game right (i mean there is no right way, but if you don't want to grind you definitely don't have to... you could grind, but your time is better spent building stuff to grind for you...) the learning curve is incredibly manageable for a game this intricate.
