Very deep. enjoyable game
Once you click with this game it becomes frighteningly addictive, but with good reason. It is really, really good. Yes, the DLC practises are, well, questionable, but we wouldn't have this game still being worked on if there were no DLC,'s and the fact that so many people shell out the money for them must mean people like it. A lot!

Great grand strategy game
I have spent nearly a thousand of hours with the game and I could spend 10 times more and would still enjoy it. One of the best Paradox Grand Strategy titles in my opinions. Ignore those complaining about the amount of DLCs or they cost. Yes, there are plenty and all together they do cost a fair amount buy you can buy just some and when on sale. Keep in mind that the game came out nearly 10 years ago and Paradox has been adding features to it all those years. It's not like they cut out the DLCs just before game release to release them for the next 10 years. If you don't like the DLCs, don't buy them, you will still get the game as it came out 10 years ago with lots of extra free features since.

My favorite of PDX
This game is so good. Great depth and replayability. A captivating historical back drop. I haven't had any issues running the GOG version of this game. Definitely worth picking up ALTHOUGH the base game by itself in 2023 is not a very fun play. It's expensive to get the full experience, but if you enjoy it as much as me, you'll get thousands of hours out of it.

An amazing experience!
I really like the ability that you have to craft a state and bring a small nation to a global super power. Power fantasy is fulfilled!
