I agree with most of the other negative reviews. Many useless guns, annoying reload mechanics (why doesn't it reload automatically when I hold the fire button?), WAY too much randomness when it comes to getting guns (synergises with many of them being basically useless or too freaky to use, so a chance to get a good one is even smaller), almost impossible health management (extremely easy to loose health, very hard to replenish it), bullet-spongy enemies (yes, even the basic ones on lvl 1), getting swarmed with many enemies that use varied mechanics that make it hard to avoid getting hit, basically no progress whatsoever between runs, unrewarding gameplay... I feel tricked with the videos showing only the cool stuff. Yes, the cool stuff is there, but is EXTREMELY diluted by the tediouseness brought by above mentioned issues. I am not going to waste my time playing a game that is only satysfying 10% of the time, with the other 90% being just plain annoying and frustrating. And all of this just in the first 75 minutes of gameplay. I am not interested in the slightest to discover more of it, I've had enough. Overall a bad and disappointing experience, I have played LOTS of better bullet hell Flash games for free. I wish there was a way to get a refund like on Steam...

Enter the gungeon can be summed up in two words. Fun and frustration. It balances both well. If your looking for a game that you can just stroll through with little to no effort. This is not your game. If you are looking for a fun challenging game that may leave you pulling your hair out on the odd occasion. This is the game for you. Please don't take that as a reason to avoid this game for just a casual sit down. However if you want to finish this game you are going to have to sit down, strap in, and do some serious gaming. Some of enter the gungeons strengths lie in its randomized map and enemy generation. There are a large number of possibilities that await you behind every door. Especially in the deeper levels. There is a certain satisfaction that comes with dispatching your increasingly difficult foes. Some of which are relentless and you will find yourself having to keep your wits about your until every enemy is disposed of. There is also lots to unlock, NPCs, Shops, Weapons, Challenges etc. A couple of downsides would be the guns though numerous can be few and far between leaving you to fight increasingly more difficult enemies with just your starter weapon. The controls will take a bit to get around but they can be remapped in game menu if you wish. I would highly recommend this game to the arcade shooter/dungeon crawler fan. Hours and hours of entertainment. Great game. Note: I have not tried co-op so I can't rate this feature of the game.

It's not a BAD game, just done so much better in other games. 0 progression between runs. 0 explanation outside of the basic controls. The art is nice, there's a good variety of different guns. Actually, far too much variety. Most are useless or some minor variation on another gun. Cover is kind of cool, but often missing when you actually need it. The entire game kind of feels like I'm just rolling dice to see if I have a good run. Very little of what I do seems to actually matter outside of not dying. Wouldn't reccommend unless you're just looking for a mindless bullet hell game or the art style or puns really grab you. Try Nuclear Throne or Starward Rogue instead.

As the tags say, this game supports coop! My first thought was "awesome I can grab some friends and play together", but sadly this plan was bashed by the fact, that it's only local coop-mode. Now I dont know why you (as a dev) would make such a fun Coop game, but then dont include online mode. Now, I do understand that coding Multiplayer/online coop is really difficult, especially if they game is already finished and you want to add it afterwards. Now this was made by a small Indie Studio and they probably didn't have the resources to add this feature. Modders, make online coop happen, please. I know there is someone who has the knowledge and experience to do it (considered we get the source code of the game). Otherwise I can say I had a lot of fun playing Enter The Gungeon, it is challanging but not unfair. I would recommend this game insteantly, for people who play singleplayer though.... I am thinking of refunding this game now since I wanted to play online, makes me really sad though... And a little criticism on gog: Please have seperate tags for 'Coop' as in - local coop - online coop

Played a few rogue-lites of this style but personally I just find the bullet-hell aspect really limiting. The enemy variety is there in appearance but not in personality, spawning different quantities of red blobs to throw at the enemy is not really variety. Maybe it changes up in the later levels, but the early content is not interesting enough to encourage me to keep grinding.
