It seems overwhelming at first. Just make sure to use the tutorial. It at first seems complicated, but the interface will make sence as you progress through the tutorial. There is a lot to keep track of, so i would not clasify this as a casual game.
Has issues of course but I played it for about two hours and it's a lot of fun. You can config the map generation so there's tons of trees, lakes, ruins and mountains. I like low mountains, medium ruins and lakes and lots of trees.
Night gets really dark which is pretty neat, so it's not just super blue coloured. But apparently the settlers don't know how to use torches... You can make electricity later so I imagine houses and the like will get lighting.
It's a cool little Fallout-style city builder, there's no mutants or ghouls though, just animals - not sure if there's any predators though.
Very interesting post-apo city builder. Looks nice, runs well, lots of cool mechanics. The level of complexity is just right for me.
My biggest complaint is the lack of a story campaign and a long and boring tutorial.
There are also some quality of life deficiencies (my compulsion to arrange buildings perfectly screams because of the lack of options to move them).
Overall good game for chilling out.
It's ok, but like many similar games it's alright in the early game, but then as you progress further the cracks really start to show..
On technical/UX side, I spend too much time looking for certain resource buildings because they all look the same, and it's very cluttered. So then I have to select the building I'm looking for in build menu, but still it's often hard to see the outlines, it started to grate on my when my settlement grew to a certain size.
As for the overall gameplay, eventually it feels a little pointless, like I'm just grinding away to nowhere, balancing demands/issues and again I'm constantly looking for certain buildings and battling the UX more than anything.
I enjoy these games, and will play this one a while before shelving it, but it won't be one of those I come back to so I recommend waiting for a big discount.
A fantastic little indie city builder, not too easy or too hard. Something you can enjoy for 20m or many hours.
Solid graphics and AI
Gameplay feels familiar for the genre
UI could be improved slightly but it works rather well.
Plenty of room for expanding on the game with solid dlc.
Current DLC are a mixed bag, Prosperity was a solid little addition but far places is a bitter disappointment
