Description
A classic isometric RPG set in a dystopian enviroment allowing you to fight enemies, explore the hostile wasteland, level up your character and join one of the forces in the ruined world that survived through the horrific Incident, isolated from the rest of the world.
Start the game in one of the five divisions of the CRONUS Corporation — Wings, each with its own features, mechanics, and game options.
Go on a one way trip under the Dome from which you cannot return. Avoid radiation and anomalies, fight mutated animals and search for unique artifacts.
Start the game as an ordinary company employee and become the driving force behind the story that takes place before, during, and after the disaster that became known as the Incident.
After getting familiar with the world, dive into an open world full of freedom and danger. The old order is gone, now five powerful factions rule over the wasteland. Join one of them or be a lone wolf. Change the future of the Dome and its inhabitants or go your own way.
Threaten your enemies out of battle: persuade important people to give you favors. Don't have charisma for that? Then bribe them! Encased story is deep, each quest can be completed differently, depending on your stats and choices and those choices will really matter in the end, thanks to multiple game endings. Kill everyone, be a pacifist or choose anything in-between, the game will adapt to your playstyle.
Level up your own unique character: will you specialise in stealth, melee combat, sniper rifles, psionics or diplomacy? Will you be a lone wolf or a party leader? Or maybe even try to play through the game as low intellect hero? It's all up to you.
Go on a journey and learn dozens of useful abilities like hacking, mechanics, thieving or even driving. Study relics to reveal technological secrets of the Dome and then explore the lands, finding new places, anomalies and rivals. Not all of them will be humans, by the way.
Make difficult decisions: steal, assasinate or help despite any concequences. Build your reputations with one faction or try to please them all, but remember that sometimes compromises are impossible.
Repair and craft: forge robotic armor — Servoshell, build unique guns and upgrade them. Maybe even cook something. After all, you can't survive on an empty stomach.

Tried a few different Wings and the game is pretty much the same every time. Dialogue options don't really change things that much, and the story was unclear. Tons of abilities for guns and melee moves, but they all do similar things... the game is based on HP and fatigue. You can lay a guy out doing fatigue burning moves or take way longer trying to kill them. I was playing on tactics mode (hardest difficulty) and this heavily armored robot/stone crab with tons of HP walked repeatedly into an electric anomaly killing itself while I watched. Honestly, I keep getting very bored playing it because the system is "fake deep," with a superficial crafting system and giant inventory of useless junk. The story also drops off hard after the first big mission. Just feels like a big waste of time really.
This game is in early access and lots of things will change. It plays just like the original fallout games, so if you like fallout you may like this, a few things, theres more reading, when doing quests in fallout you get to watch how it plays out, whether it be NPC's taking action and shooting someone etc this game plays it out in text so you read how it ends and then the screen fades out and then you are standing there, i feel this takes away the interaction of the game and leaves the player feeling left out. Hopefully this changes with future updates, yet if it doesnt it still not bad, but i hope it does evolve. [the interaction of this really would set the bar so much higher in this game]
Combat is a little clunky and not really balanced, [Enemies evade alot], sound effects seem missing or overpowered by music, searching can take forever etc.
Theres alot of people to talk to and you can pretty much help everyone which is nice, most games have npc's which have no impact on the game but with interacting with most people it feels like you can help or ruin most npc's days.
Some bugs here and there yet i give this game 3 - 4 stars based on its current 'EARLY ACCESS STATE', if they address the interaction cut scenes better instead of just reading and having a fade out and this just magically change the setting it would set this game so much higher.
Will edit reviews as the game goes on.
I stumbled over this game some time ago, followed how it progressed, and though it appealed to me the moment i first learned about it, i admit i was more and more hyped with every piece of info that was released. Buying this game the moment it went live is something i rarely do, but i did, and being in this game for some time now, i can't express enough how excited i am to see that the hopes i had in this game was more than justified: the developers just delivered! In my opinion, this game - so far - is in one league with D:OS and AtomRPG, so if you liked these games, you're not doing anything wrong here.
Keep in mind that if you're, like me, preferring playing games with a controller, there is no gamepad support at the moment, but according to the developers will be added soon in an upcoming patch.
In short: This is a masterpiece.
Side note: Reading these reviews from people complaining about the dlc offered before the final release was published is more than frustrating...the developers clarified that several times in the forums that this was related to Kickstarter, so downvoting the game because of this is a shame. Furthermore, this has nothing to do with the quality of the game, so complain in the forums if you must.
I strongly suggest ignoring these reviews.
This game is clearly a love letter to Fallout 2, but with an interesting original retro/futuristic setting. The writing is the game's greatest strength, at times laugh out loud funny or compelling and I had to pause to think about some of the tougher decisions. The mechanics are solid but the combat can be a bit too easy. However, there are usually multiple viable solutions to each challenge. Overall I'd recommend to any RPG fan.
I must admit it took me some time to find pleasure playing this game. But after some time I've experienced moderate plot in very detailed world. There is a lot of text to read but it creates the aura of living under the Dome. The concept of mixing together Fallout with the STALKER is really amazing. Easter eggs are really funny and nostalgic. The great advantage of this game is equipment, the weapons, the armours and the process of creating and upgrading your gear.
I understand that some people don't like this game - it is really oldschool idea, but if you have a time to find a true gem - try Encased.
