Massive time line and variety of fighting units and unique civilizations across five ages: Middle Ages (950 AD - 1300 AD), Gunpowder (1300 AD - 1600 AD), Imperial (1600 AD - 1900 AD), World War I (1914 AD - 1935 AD), World War II (1935 AD - 1945 AD).

Save your money, game is not working on windows 10, ran as administrator tried numerous compatibility settings.

Just as good as Rise of Nations
It's 2021 and this is the first time I'm playing this game, so I have no Nostalgia or rose tinted glasses affecting my opinion. But seriously, I can't believe I missed this game as child, it's basically a perfect fusion of Age of Empires and Rise of nations. While there's less nations than RoN, they all have much more variety than just a bonus and 2 or three unique units. There's less ages but there's more depth to them, unlike RoN or even Empire Earth where it feels like you're zooming through the ages and not really fighting a lot in the early eras, both modes here (action and Empire) will assure you will have plenty of fighting through the eras and come to appreciate the change in technology Visually the game ain't half bad, and this is coming from somebody whos picky about graphics, sure RoN looks a tad bit better, but to be fair it did get an extended edition to enhance it, the vanilla version would be about on par with this. All in all , take advantage of this sale and get the game if you want to play an amazing rts lost to history. Seriously why are so many of the best rts games just so obscure; Rise of Legends, World in Conflict and now this, Empires: Dawn of the Modern World

Empire Earth fan here. The constraints on single player make the campagins bland and unenjoyable. The upgrade system is heavily restricted and the gameplay lacks depth. Once the novelty of moving between eras wears off there is little to recommend. The game also broke on me when my soldiers would stop attacking the enemy making the game unplayable. If you really REALLY need more empire earth, get it on discount. If you are an Age of Empires fan and want to see what it's like to skip through eras, it's ok I guess. Not a great experience for me. Glad I got it on special.

Great game and IT DOES run on Windows 10
This game is fantastic! Huge battles and a ton of strategy to be had here. If you are a fan of the RTS genre, you owe it to yourself to pick this gem up. Few notes to get it working on Windows 10. After downloading off of GoG, the game had SERIOUS lag issues for me. All it took was to update my Windows 10 video codecs. Go out and download the k-lite Mega codec pack for Windows 10 ( https://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm ). After updating my video codecs, the game runs smooth as butter!
