Control the destiny of a fledgling civilization through as many as 500,000 years of human history. From meagre beginnings you must exploit the natural resources around you to build an empire capable of dominating the Earth. But your rise to supremacy will not go unchallenged. As was the case throughout history, rival civilizations are certain to oppose you every step of the way.

New technologies, buildings and weapons become available as your civilization progresses through history. But bear in mind that advancement does not necessarily mean success. Your civilization might flourish during one Epoch only to be crushed in the next...

Completely Flawless

This game is an old classic, as we all can agree on (Those of us who have played it). I remember picking this game up in a charity shop around 9 years ago. Once I had painfully loaded the game up, because, for a six year old, installing the game with the sold out wizard is almost impossible, I was blown away by the amount of freedom you had over the game. You could put anything anywhere and advance through the epochs into different ages, whilst unlocking new buildings, soldiers, and upgrades along the way. Unfortunately, my little mind could not defeat the AI without using cheat codes, so the AI grew tiresome, as it always overwhelmed me. I started playing the game again recently, after finding it, and it is still as good as ever. The only difference now, being, I can actually outsmart and defeat the AI. Overall it is a very challenging, but fun, RTS game,

A great feat for its time, but bad AI

First off, it DOES run in Windows 10. It in fact ran in my notebook with integrated Intel graphics, which I suppose is another feat. As for the game, it has a lot of content spanning through 15 ages and supporting massive maps with massive number of units and very little in the way of lag. (Age2HD, I'm looking at you) The plus of this game is that games will feel very unique, each map setup presents its unique challenges and the game has lots of different units, each with its own special skills, made to more or less counter each other and all result in a very satisfying empire building and mayhem. The big issue with the game and the reason why I recommend to only get it on a good sale is that it has a very bad AI and its graphics didn't age well. You won't find a thriving online community for this game and the AI cheats all the time. The AI cheats so much it is broken, it will flood military units early game, but once you get over that it is pretty much done for. The AI advances linearly through the ages and poses no variation whilst you, once you take a hold of a second and then third gold, will advance exponentially through the ages. The graphics are limited in the sense of the camera being close to the battle and the view range being less than optimal. The game also has issues with food in the early game, you can struggle greatly if you start the game at an age earlier than Cooper against the AI. It seems the idea of the game was to originally have animals roam around and reproduce, and then you had to take care not to deplete its sources or exploit them to develop agriculture. The reality though is just another good idea left unfinished and transformed into a gimmick as reproduction is really slow even for very small gathering rates. This game might be best view as a testament to how high people could dream rather than how much they could achieve. It is fun for a while and can be awesome to play in Local Network with other people though.

General good

Empire Earth is general good. Although, It will never reach Age of Empires. You have the ability to start from the humans technical beggining, Stone age. It's limited what you can make and do, but as you advance through the ages, you soon recive a hugh number of abillities. The game is good, and so is the histories, but... One problem is, that if you've played Age of Empires (2) alot, you'll might have a hard time accepting the stories in Empires Earth, some of the stories seems just empty. Another problem is that you sometimes ends up with old troops from bronze age while near modern age. So remember to make sure you upgrade all your units, else, there's a long way of upgrading in head of you. The last problem is that before advancing to new ages, you might have to make a town center, or another mission. It's not that bad, because it helps you expand your empire. But when all comes to one, Empire Earth is a damn good game, and you simply should give it a try, even if you prefer Age of Empires. Through the game, you experince, Stone age, the Roman Empire, World War I and II, and even the future. So don't be shy, Empire Earth will surely entertain you for months, might even years.

Good game

I didn't like it, but it's a good game nonetheless. It has amazing replay value, however I found it too fast paced as most RTS games are and very unbalanced.
