Emperor: Rise of the Middle Kingdom

Though surpassed now by the Augustus mod for Caesar III, this game really polished this series of city builders to a mirror sheen. I still go back to this one more than the others, personally, though I have played countless hours of Pharaoh and Caesar as well.

The game is awesome, one of the best city builders. The best from the Impressions Games, except for combat.

ive been playing this over and over probably since it came out. i wish there were more of these games in this format. I play zeus, pharoah, this ceaser iii and 4 cant play glory of rome anymore but imperium is just as good. Greece doesnt have the same format, i know im older, it just doesnt compute

This is Impression Games third opus, and the easiest, as you don't have to have housing within reach of workplaces. Having said that, it isn't that easy, in fact the game is a good think, to get things in an appropriate place and started off. Each new mission is more complex than the previous, of course, giving a few hours of fun to each one. Glad GOG took the Impression games on, as they can now be played on Windows 8 and after.
