Our story begins in one corner of Allraan, a tapestry of nations with diverse cultures and values.
By dint of sword, and by way of magical objects known as “rune-lenses,” the land’s history has been shaped by the alliances and aggressions of the humans, beastmen, elves, and desert people who live there.
The Galdean Empire has edged out other nations and discovered a technology that amplifies the rune-lenses’ magic.
Now, the Empire is scouring the continent for an artifact that will expand their power even further.
It is on one such expedition that Seign Kesling, a young and gifted imperial officer, and Nowa, a boy from a remote village, meet each other and become friends.
However, a twist of fate will soon drag them into the fires of war, and force them both to reexamine everything they believe to be right and true.

One of the best traditional JRPG I have ever played. I just spent two hours in the very first quest. This is going to be one of those long rewarding memorable gaming experiences! This is so good and beautiful to even behold, that it made me write my first ever review on GOG. Good gaming!
While I am a big fan of original Suikoden and have finished all parts (some numerous times), I cant force myself to give this game 5/5. I have been monitoring development of Eyuden for like year, placing big expectations on it.
Were they met? Yes and no.
Game itself is decent continuation of original concept, at least of Suikoden 1-2. Story is simple yet alluring, it gave me everything I wanted to get from Suikoden's successor.
However, game feels raw and rushed. Some scenes were clearly rushed, especially near end, there random freezes, and at initial release it was impossible to collect all heroes due to a bug (which later was fixed).
This actually reminded me Suikoden 2 which also suffered from similar problems, fans even released patch to fix some of them.

Overall Eyuden is good, but requires some polishing and additional scenarios to properly tell the story that was rushed. Hope this will be done via DLC with time, and whats more important - Konami announced that they will remake Suikoden 1-2 for PC, highly doubt that without Eyuden this would have happened!
I purchased the game on GOG, initially believing the localization issues couldn’t be as bad as some claimed. Unfortunately, I was wrong. The localization does a great disservice to the game, robbing it of the charm that made Murayama's work so special. The persistent bugs, alongside the flawed localization, turn what should have been a triumphant revival for Suikoden fans into a disappointing missed opportunity. It's truly disheartening.
Japanese Original: Thank you for creating one last great adventure, Yoshitaka Murayama, rest in peace. Thank you as well for bringing this to PC so that even more people can enjoy the spiritual successor to my favorite JRPG series of all time. Wonderful art style, classic story, nostalgic gameplay.
English Translation: Pretend this is a successor to the Suikoden series, what do you get out of it? Ermagerd, Yoshitaka Murayama lolz ded. Oh what, you expected a genuine compliment here? One good hooray after accomplishing something unprecedented? Have a snide remark instead farthead! Genuine storiez are for chudz, sarcasm is all the rage these dayz. LoOk At Me, I'm ThE LoCaLiZeR NoW! Keep yo words outta my zone.
Honestly, this is a good game. Will I look back 20 years from now and remember Nowa and Seign as fondly as I do Victor and Flick? Probably not, but the story as I'm playing through it now is a lot less genuine and heartfelt than the one I've seen translated from the original japanese, so once the mods come out that allow you to experience the game as Rabbit and Bear studios intended maybe I'll feel differently. Even in spite of all the modern dayisms that were peppered thoughout, I would still recommend this game over most other games that've come out in the past year.
I finished this game with the 120 characters (guide needed..) and I enjoyed it.
But the game was too childish for me and dissapointing.
Suikoden games are much better balanced in terms of story quality and quantity. I'm not saying this out of nostalgia, because I played the HD versions of Suikoden 1 & 2 recently.
I thought Murayama had a master script writen, but.. This is just another ok game, and that's it.
And I never understood Marisa, is she contradictory?¿
And btw, the ending is bugged. I had to Youtube a scene..
