Egypt: Old Kingdom

So I totally love the Clarus Victoria games, and they are all about efficency. Means, you know exactly what happens when and then you can sort your workers how you need them. But the buildings you can build and mostly their sequence is fixed. But now, you can build whatever you want at the place, a big improvement which makes a game more individual. Plus, some things are more randomized so not every playing feels like the same. I read a lot that this is only 3D Predynastic Egypt, but believe me, my playtime for one playtrhough is 3 times greater (3 instead of 1 hour), and when another game goes one step further, I thing it will my greatest game of all time. 13/10

It's similar to Predynastic Egypt, with what appears to be some improvements and more complex. Eventually, it's a never ending stream of windows after every turn ends. The UI is absolute garbage. End turn, camera moves by itself to new location, click show me on the map for an event, camera starts to go there but then jukes to the next event window. And again, and again, and again. 3 minutes later you're not sure wtf you're supposed to do. I have no idea what happened at the end of the game but every turn I basically lost everything I had been working on for hours. The entire time you play, you are working for resources, and then using those resources to make friends with locals. Literally hours of doing this, I had everyone friendly and assimilated. But then events started happening over and over, all of my allies were hostile, and I lost all of my resources. I bought this because Predynastic was fun and to the point, and felt like I learned some things. This game is just sadistic, both in the UI and the implementation of events. These were a test run for Marble Age but now I don't think I'll bother. They seem to want to stick with mobile UI, 100% of your game play is clicking and dragging. Poor sound design as well.

Shallow mechanics, waste of time if you are looking for a city builder. It made me think of Enchanted Fortress, a text only "kingdom management" game from the 80s.

This is a pretty chill and interesting game. Nice graphics, pretty much okay sounds and music and a cool pacing throughout the adventure and development. There are some problems with the UI but nothing game breaking. Worth the 6 euro i payed on sale.

This is a fun resource management game that really nails the Old Kingdom setting in Egypt. Games are fairly quick (a few hours), and pretty addictive. The three Gods play differently, and the free DLC allows a lot of replayability. Only downside is that some events aren't explained too well in advance, so you have to play the game a few times until you have an idea of what's coming.
