Description
Only a few thousand humans managed to escape from the Earth before its collapse in 2150 A.D. They spent the next few years on the terra forming of the red planet, developing new technologies and building up new civilisations. Somehow each of the three fractions "Eurasian Dynasty", "United Civilised States" and "Lunar Corporation" did this independently and separately from each other - but in the year 2160 something strange happens in this new world. Will the ED, UCS and LC join forces or continue their old war against each other?

Besides the usual venues in the solar system, there are some strange looking locations: planets with moving and reflecting liquid surfaces. And beside the standard RTS - resources acquisition, base building and destruction of enemy bases, the year 2160 will have some adventure inspired tasks for the players.

  • An innovative in-game unit creator that lets you research and build your own vehicles
  • Good visuals that aren’t very heavy on your system
  • Four completely different sides of a massive conflict

Great RTS

Great and innovative RTS game. One of the underrated and forgotten classic. Great and light graphic, day-night cycles, better designed units than in the first Earth games, better gameplay...

Mediocre despite originality

This game has a seemingly interesting premise of constructing custom variations of your units, and completely distinct factions to battle out...but the execution leaves a lot to be desired. Some factions are extremely tedious, some are super easy, while the custom building option doesn't really offer that much useful variety. Combined with an array of commands that overcomplicate what previous RTS games have already polished up (seriously, it shouldn't take that many flags to simply move a unit around and not get it killed at first chance). Some things just don't need improving. Overall, the visual effects are great, though the story seems generic, but despite its flaws, it can still bring some interest to certain gamers. But I definitely understand why this series wasn't mainstream ever.

Not a worthy successor to Earth 2150

I played the Earth 2150 games back in the day, and absolutely loved the 3D graphics, overlooked the cringe-worthy cut-scenes, and spent way too long playing multiplayer with friends. Seeing the sequel on GOG, I decided to take a punt. It's not like the originals. The 3D graphics is fancier -- that's the best part. The controls are poor and confusing. The missions are tedious. There are too many scripted sections that you trigger by entering an area, etc. I got bored very quickly and gave up. Unless you're a die-hard RTS fan, look elsewhere.

It's alright, nothing special

The single player campaign wasn't all that great. Might want to read a review on the game first if that is what you are looking for. Multi-player is supposed to be quite good however. Haven't played the game in a long time and don't remember ever finishing it. For six bucks I'd get it nonetheless if you're into sci-fi RTS games and want something slightly different... <rant>Personally I prefer the first installment in the series the most. The dark, gritty and post-apocalyptic feeling was right there, despite being the weakest link in terms of gameplay out of the series. Terminators with miniguns running amok, huge mechs flinging napalm and super-heated plasma around and cool looking big ass tanks having a laser beam barbecue in a mostly barren, desolate world! Miss the old two-dimensional sprite based games...</rant>
