Description
Eador is a universe made of countless shards of land drifting in the Great Nothing. Each of the shards is a little world unto itself, with geography and denizens of its own. The power over the shards is bitterly contested by Masters, the immortal beings mortals believe to be gods.

Take the role of the mighty Master and shape the destiny of Eador! It is in your power to deliver the world from ultimate destruction – or to choke it with an iron fist of tyranny. Eador. Masters of the Broken World is a turn-based fantasy strategy game, where the decisions you make affect the world even deeper than the battles you win.

  • A balanced fusion of grand strategy, turn-based tactics, and RPG elements;
  • Boundless role playing opportunities coupled with a massive selection of stratagems and ways to wage war;
  • An intriguing, non-linear story that unfolds in a living, breathing fantasy world.

Note: This game may require additional serial key for multiplayer mode. In case it is not automatically generated in your GOG.com library (open it via website → select the game → More → Serial Keys), please reach out to our Support team.

This game is huge and long (~144h).

Compared to Eador (classic), with Allied Forces DCL we get some new units and mechanism (like backstab). But generally this game is the same game, we have some unpolished mechanisms (i.e. revolts in provinces), stupid AI that can only cheat like crazy (in every province puts guards that cost of upholding easily excess it's budget). Main problem of this game is net framework, and plague of bugs, from non braking like white magic harm our magician, to memory exception that kick you from game. Even that this game is interesting enough to spend, a few hundreds hours on play (maybe lite to monotony in the end).

Both Better and Worse than Genesis

This game is a remake of Eador Genesis. It has fancier graphics, a few new enemies and rules, but it is also just somehow worse than the previous entry in the series. Eador is a game that takes a long time to play, and it is a game that benefits from the player being able to get a lot of information at a glance, without having to spend valuable seconds trying to figure out what something is. Eador Genesis had this down perfectly. Play a few shards, and you know what that enemy in front of you is and what it can do. But with Broken World, it's not so easy. With the 3D graphics, it can be difficult to make out what an enemy is, what a building is, whether a province is plains or hills, what the building in your capital are - etc. It's a chore. Maybe I need to get my eyes checked but this game is just bloody draining to play. The worst offender of this is the capital screen. The building construction interface has been scrunched down into a tiny corner of the screen. Genesis had an interface that was quite good, and pretty much any change that has been made in this version of the game is a change for the worse. If you need the fancy graphics than by all means, play this version. But if you can take em or leave em, just stick with Genesis.

Do not purchase

The game is just not functional. Crashes when you select "Campaign". Too bad, the game was fun but can't play.

Great game...Rollie joe is on a crusade.

The person named Rolliejoe has posted this review throughout the internet and it is factually incorrect. I have been playing for hours and the game is a lot of fun....too bad trolls will ruin this game.

Poor AI + loads of bugs

MotBW AI is extremely weak (much worse than in HOMM3 or Civ4, two games with similar game mechanics) and changing the difficulty level doesn't affect its behaviour, it just slows down the game (tougher neutral units, less experience gained etc.) but it doesn't make the game more difficult (e.g. by making AI more agressive or more efficient at building and expanding). Considering there is no multiplayer (OK, apart from the "tactical" joke), this alone is a game-breaking issue. All the bugs and glitches people complain about on the forum are just the icing on the cake. Moreover, the pre-order was a scam (the description was changed after release, but originally they advertised features the game doesn't have and they didn't even admit it was a remake of Genesis but called it a "continuation"). On the other hand, the graphics are very nice. They remind me of Disciples 3.
