Driftmoon Enchanted Edition

I loved the story, which was a bit warped, and there was so much treasure! Lovely treasure. When the end of the story came, and all too soon at that, I was sad. Why only 4 stars then? Well maybe 2/3 of the way through the game the authors broke the fourth wall a bit with some very light proselytizing, which made me nervous that it was going to be like those free Kindle books where halfway through the story stops in favor of an infomercial about Jesus. That didn't happen here, but it sort of broke the immersion for me.

Compared to other games, Driftmoon has these positive features: 1. Excellent game balance The player can progress through the game at a steady pace. No constant “run here to pick up drops from dead enemies”, “run there to sell useless items to a merchant”. In short, the game’s developer is **very** empathetic towards the player. 2. Puzzles In Driftmoon, the puzzles are perfect, adding another facet to the game’s pleasant atmosphere. 3. Waypoints As the player explores an area, Driftmoon **automatically** sets waypoints. 4. Font Silly, I know, but I really like the font that the developer used for text in Driftmoon. 5. Feedback Driftmoon’s developer welcomes feedback. Throughout the game, the player can press the “f” key to display a feedback form. Negative Features This review would seem like a marketing pitch (and I do recommend purchasing Driftmoon) if I didn’t include some complaints: 1. Even though the Mod Editor provides tooltips, the Mod Editor is **not** intuitively obvious to the uninitiated. No documentation exists to explain its functions. 2. The website of the game’s developer, Instant Kingdom, needs a makeover. Did I finish Driftmoon? Yes

It's a simple game but brings joy. Wish there were more games like this.

Playing Driftmoon was truly a pleasurable experience. Great puzzles, some of them were rather easy but some were truly demanding. I only had to search help in the Internet only once (I was at my wits end). My favourite ones were logic puzzles, for example the riddle in the last chapter. Battles were neither too easy nor too hard (there are four difficulty levels, I picked one of the middle ones), so playing this game is a challenge, not a chore. I recommend it for everyone - it took me almost 10 hrs to finish Driftmoon and I think it was time spent well :)

It reminds me a lot of Fink Smallwood, in both the play style and the humor. Mind you this is a good thing. This game is the sort of casual game you relax with.
