Great atmosphere
It's been over a year, since i've played through this game, but i vividly remember the detailed and flavourful world this game had layed out before my eyes. You could spend a long time in the starting area alone, examining items and even getting some backstory with it, told by the protagonist. The Graphics are beautiful for the time and have aged well, being they are pixel sprite based and well made from an artistic point of view. What stands out most are the rotoscoped animations, which make the characters move in a very fluid and lifelike way. The Sound was generally well put together. Music sounds very fitting, although not too memorable; sound effects sound like what they are supposed to. The only thing that can be considered a weak point is the voiceovers. The more unimportant side-characters tend to sound a little uninspired or maybe just unexperienced. This might pass off as early talkie game charm, though, and it certainly felt that way to me. It's a matter of taste, i guess. The Gameplay is pretty standard point and click adventure fare. No big surprises i can remember in terms of playability and function, as far controls go. Some puzzles were pretty hard, bordering on the absurd and pixelhunting and mindbending ist often obligatory. Something for very creative problem solvers, people with accurate eyesight, and/or people who aren't too proud to look some things up in walkthrougs. The Story is nothing too special at first, but captivating none the less, in part due to the beautiful dialogue writing making the characters come to life. There is a major plot twist. A very unexpected one. I won't spoil anything. In conclusion, all i can say is: Have fun with the game. I got as it was still free, but i would be willing to pay the full price for it.

Pretty sweet adventure with its own pace
So this is pretty much a classic point and click adventure, literally classic, since it's out for over 20 years now. Not many surprises in that regard, it is very similar to games of the genre from that time. The special thing about the game is the brilliant story and twist, which is worth taking a look at. Besides, this offers an elegant, neat fantasy world atmosphere. I've decided to give it a try since it's been lying in my library for quite some time (I guess it was given for free at some point, because I didn't know about this game.) I wish I'd played that around the years when it first came out, because by then I could probably give it the justified amount of time! but for now I've decided to do it in one sitting using mostly a walkthrough. This is truly a charming and hidden title, although I did find the puzzles not easy at all to figure (Although they mostly made some sense), and also there's no way to quicken your pace up, so your characters walk VERY SLOWLY. Which can be quite tiresome. You'd sure need some patience for this game, especially nowadays, BUT, if you have some liking to the old classics, be sure to check this out !

1994, the year of Microprose's last...
...adventure game, a point and click production entitled DragonSphere. At its release the graphics were considered high quality, and the game itself has become a cult classic for many. Treat yourself to an incredible story that truly mystifies from beginning to end, with enough twists to severely cause your adventuring skills to hemmorage! I mean, you don't realize this till later, but right from the start the writers have you fooled. Now don't go guessing at what might be going on before playing this adventure from what you just read, because you'll never figure it out till later; much later in fact. While in-game you don't have to save, EVER, because if and when you die, and yes, you will, the game restarts you right at the point of death, so having learned you can try something different! Take that Dark Souls like games that take an eternity to finish yet have only 20 minutes of story but seem long because you die having to play the same content agonizingly over and over. Not so here! THIS GAME quickly auto-saves and has you back exactly where you died before you can blink an eye! The puzzles really make sense, there's A LOT of them, and they are intricately planned. You may need four or five items in your inventory just for one solution. If you're missing something, an NPC will usually give a verbal clue to guide you to what you are missing! Incredible way of helping without giving the complete solution away. Also, you need not fear EVER of reaching a DEAD END where because you forgot something you have to start over. Ain't gonna happen. All areas remain accessible, so whatever you need can be backtracked to obtain it. Love that aspect! So give this game a try! DragonSphere is worth your play time! Help King Callahach save the kingdom! A picture is worth a thousand words, therefore a video must be worth much more. DragonSphere is AWESOME!
a POINT and CLICK adventure in the likes of Hero Quest and King's Quest V, graphics hold up and CDROM sound and voice acting still holds up! 9/10!
