Full of amazing surprises!

I finished this on Xbox 360 but the PC should be just as good. Either way, this game has been now replaced by Dragon Age Inquisition but still feels very realistic, atmospheric and enjoyable. You have enough classes to choose from, you roam around the not-so-large but still decently big world with your AI companions and quest for loot and since fast travel is limited to a certain degree, you will feel the scope of the land. To put is shortly, this game works and you get what you expected with appropriate difficulty, although this is not a one to be played for the storyline but you will enjoy everything else, I promise. Oh and by the way, however great DA;I is, it doesn't have an OMG HOLY F**K DEVIL DRAGON arch enemy that will haunt you in your dreams!!! The only gripe I have with it, though, is the music. If you can, play your own because there is not much to help you get immersed in this.

Masterwork, you can't go wrong

I usually only like RPGs that have a strong narrative and/or characters. Dragon's Dogma doesn't have a particularly fleshed out plot or characters, but it makes up for it with incredible amounts of customization for your character as well as a really fun combat system. The art design of the world is also beautiful. As the blacksmith hilariously likes to repeat endlessly, "It's a masterwork, you can't go wrong!"

Reminds of other open-world games

You get some kind of old-fashioned game you have seen many times before in a similar manner. In my humble opinion, the quests' stories are below average, but the combat is really good.

Save disappears when I exit the game!

Every time I fully exit the game, the next time I launch it starts up like I've never played before, creating "new save data" and making me start at the prologue and forcing me create a new character. This is BullS***! I've searched forums, contact support (still haven't gotten a reply after several days), and can see that other people are having the same problem, but have yet to find any solution. I do NOT recommend this game to anyone.

A linear slog of sameness

I bought this in the advice of others who played it and swore up and down it was better than Skyrim. While the game plays smoothly as far as performance, it's got a lot of bugs in the controls and in some of the quests as well. Plus it's basically a giant copypasta world of the same stuff everywhere with no terrain variety, no weather systems, no environmental changes. Just a day/night cycle who's only purpose is to let out the tougher monsters at night. None of the side quests were interesting at all. The main quest chain was far too short, and the game controls are unfortunately broken so badly that the boss fight with the dragon can't be completed because it feels like your'e trying to run away through a swimming pool. Then there's the integrated DLC that seems to serve no purpose at all and didn't even have a story line attached to it. The pawn system seemed like it could have been pretty cool but unfortunately trying to use the online features for them causes the game to crash regularly. With the forced single-save system it sucks to have that happen cause you'll just lose your progress. IMO, save your money for something better. Or get this when it's on an 80% off sale if you're really bored.
