Dracula: The Resurrection
Based on the characters from Bram Stoker's suspenseful novel, Dracula: The Resurrection takes you forward seven years from Jonathan Harker's faithful rescue of his fiancée Mina from the fangs of Dracula. Now married and comfortably living in London, Jonathan thinks his nightmare is behind him until he comes home to find a letter from his wife, who was bitten by Dracula several years ago on the night of his death. Unable to ignore her call for blood, she is returning to Transylvania. Jonathan's search for his wife - and his life - will take you through an Inn, Caverns, a Rail System and Dracula's Castle on his desperate passage to bring Mina back to London.

Pretty badly designed adventures.

Quite the overrated trilogy on this website. The first game is actually quite decent, fun puzzles, interesting graphics, overall a nice little experienced with only a couple of badly designed puzzles here and there which might annoy you a bit. The second game, oh boy, the second game is utter trash. And actually one of the worst games I ever played. The puzzles make absolutely no sense and have zero connection to anything one might describe as logical reality, sense of causality, or even the slightest spark of game-design insight. For example, one puzzle requires you find a rope, take a valve, then "combine" the rope with the valve and throw it on a ladder so the ladder somehow falls over towards you perfectly. The reason for this? So you can avoid some water, water you just simply swim in later in the game. It's just a massive waste of time. They also managed to completely fuck up the clicking in the game. To move a box or really solve most of the puzzles you need to click on a very specific area on an object, regardless whether it makes any sense for that specific area to have any different effect. For example, there is a part of the game where you need to move a box, now if you simply scroll over the box, nothing will happen, you have to specifically scroll over the CORNER of the box for your cursor to change into an action. They just completely fucked it up. Story is good tho, and the ending is satisfying. Only redeeming thing, it's not enough. The third game is apparently good... too bad it doesn't work. Doesn't seem to be WIndows 10 compatible so it glitches out right at the start and then runs at a fantastic 1 fps. Great experience. 2 stars for the first games, everything else is really bad.

3rd game is broken

First 2 games are OK. They haven't aged well, but can bring some fun if you don't expect much. Dracula 3 is supposed to be the best one, but it's broken - you cannot play it fullscreen because of extreme flickering. This problem is known for years and yet not fixed. The recommended solution is to play it in a small window, and if that isn't good enough for you, then you're out of luck.

Short and dull

Maybe I’m unfairly judging the game from a 2013 perspective but I was very unimpressed. Resurrection was startlingly short and (with the exception of some meaningless puzzles near the end) easy. I think I got to the ½ way mark in a single sitting. There’s maybe 6 hours of play here. The point and click object style of the game had me accidentally solving puzzles before I even knew the problem. Perhaps due to the game auto-selecting the right object from your inventory as soon as you engage with a puzzle. No i.d. on objects means you’re picking up random stuff because you can with no idea what it is or what it’s for. There really is no story line and the end game is over so fast you barely know it happened. It is basically a hidden object game with almost no obstacles that don’t involve clicking on the hidden hot spot with the right things in your inventory. The mercilessly repetitive ambient sounds had me playing on mute. But from GOG, on sale, the game was less than a latte but I’m not sure which would give you more lasting enjoyment.

Lot of pleasure

The game is in effect very difficult at times, sometimes we solve an enigma and we've off for another one even harder. The game is also graphically very good, like the sotry, and it is different from other P&C which are only good for their scenarios ! Here I took a lot of pleasure playing it, in a dark and worrying atmosphere. The dubbing is also very good ! Anyway, 4 stars for a difficult but veryinteresting game in which I took a lot of pleasure.
