Downwell

I bought this game for less than a pound, and it's continuously satisfying. It's fast paced and intense but I feel a tangible sense of progress with each run. It's a roguelike, with the only permanent upgrades being aesthetic. It's a game with an incredibly simple premise but a lot of depth and variety within that. Well worth it!

So previously I purchased this game for Android version, but my impression of that version is that the touch control is pretty lackluster and my sausage fingers and thumbs are covering many part of the screen and it can be very awkward sometimes. But the PC version, with controller support, is a whole different beast. Having a more tactile input is heaven and earth difference between this and the mobile version. With part of the screen no longer covered with my thumb I can see clearly now and I can move around, dodge and fire with better precision and there's way less accidental inputs that might ruin the gameplay. The game itself is quite fun to play. The enemies are challenging but you will get used to them as you progress. My negatives are the whole screen can be pretty small, maybe because it was designed first for mobile. Also the annoying sideway flying bats.

The gameplay is really fun and I really admire this game.

It's a fun time waster if you get it on sale. Watching the trailer gives you all that you need to know what the game is about, which is falling down a well. I can recommend this game because it's likely this will be look over by a number of gamers when it deserves a chance to be tried out.
