A groundbreaking, uber-popular game upon its arcade debut in 1987, Double Dragon is the undisputed godfather of co-op beat ‘em all!

Nostalgia can't save this garbage. I managed to power through all 3 (on easy) but man it was a chore. The 2nd one is the best and the 3rd is almost unplayable it's so bad.
This reminds me exactly why games like this died out after the early 90s – way too much cheap stunlocking by the CPU. I remember that being a huge problem in the Atari version as well. The controls constantly kept messing up. Billy would stop moving randomly in DD1. I'll stick with the SEGA version.
Firstly, this is mobile port. I own it on Android and with Bluetooth controler it's possible but nothing could beat arcade stick. This version isn't horrible, I have some performance issues and game is slow to load and sluggish in menus but I had problems with my AMD graphic drivers before, so I overlook it but be aware if you are rocking older AMD card. Games run without troubles, I don't like new interface but that is personal preference, first and second Double Dragon don't have slowdown as theyr original, arcade versions so that's good, third game is just bad and nothing could save it, my problem is that you can't select infinite continues or insert more coins for more continues, I played a ton of Double Dragon back in a day and I still own The Revenge on Mega Drive but after decades I am little rusty and we all know, how cheap these games are, so why not have this option for more casual gamers? This is also main reason why I play these games more on MAME, which have more options and lets me remap buttons on my joystick as I want. But if you don't want to mess with MAME and just want to try, how grandfather of beat 'em up gendre plays, this collection is worth buying. Personally, I love first Double Dragon, but Double Dragon Advance is definite version of Double Dragon and the best game in series, and Streets of Rage 2 and 3 are definite games in this gendre. Sadly, Double Dragon 4 will not follow arcade but inferior NES versions to appeal US market.
then collecting the stones in the game.
Seriously the first game wanted to make you suffer from everything the further you got.
The 2nd game was actually the good one.
The 3rd one was nice and smooth(good joke). The stuttering with enemies and characters with its movements made me think I been drinking all day before sitting down playing this one.
The difficulty spikes are just silly.
Input delay here and there.
Only good out of this was the music and looking at some nostalgia hence the 2 stars.
Just terrible. Comically bad.
I tried this out of curiosity knowing that DD2 for NES was a great game. Don't make the same mistake, the NES version is so much better.
The only highlight is playing DD3 co-op, and then having the players face back to back to do a hilarious spin kick. After 30 minutes of button mashing, you'll get to fight Cleopatra. Hooray?
