Possibly the greatest rpg ever created. Original sin 1 was amazing and the sequel improved upon it in every single way.
+ story, characters, writing and especially narration
+ meaningful choices and multiple endings
+ amazing tactical combat that encourages your imagination to solve situations in creative and often hilarious ways
+ visuals
+ music
+ HUGE replayability
- Sound issues and framerate issues
Overall 10/10 no matter the constant framerate and sound issues i experienced from act 2 and on i cant give this game any less than a 10. Its not just incredibly fun and creative but also very challenging and rewarding
I'm at the end of my 2nd run with 170 hours on the clock. Apsolute masterpiece without any exception. Been a rpg lover for over 20 years, played majority of classic RPG like BG, NVN, DA:O, Planescape Torment all the way to new ones, POE and ofc The Witcher. If you are a true RPG lover these game is a blessing, really looking forward to BG3 after this (altough not liking the styling of new BG but after this, I'm sure it's gonna be great!)
With 3x friends every battle take a minimum 1 hour: we speak, smile, laugh, scared, think.. we planning every turn to the end of battle. After 40 minutes, our archer hit fire arrow to the barrel with oil and our plan is burned.
In this game you can poisone apple and give it your friend-undead for healing. And sleep with a spider O_o
Every quest have a few different ways for complete. Some ways you can't find in single playing or first walkthrough.
Yep, before Baldur's Gate 3, Divinity Original Sin 2 - best role-playing game.
I really like this game. I don't like Baldur's Gate or Pillars of Eternity but I like this game. I think it may be because the graphics are excellent for an isometric RPG and it is fully voiced. Or it may be because the characters and writing are both excellent without being overly long winded and boring.
This game takes itself more seriously that DOS:1 and has WAY more interesting party members. That's the biggest improvement made in this game. The combat is turn based, deep, and well done. I think the difficulty spike between explorer mode and classic ramps up a bit too much IMO though. There are lots of ways to play from character/class choice, to single/multiplayer, mouse and keyboard or controller.
Currently the game does have some flaws. The Quest Log is fairly broken. It's easy to have quests not complete or have them continue to update despite them already being finished. So, don't a nice clean Quest Log.
Still, most of the things this game does it does very well. It's not as cinematic as Dragon Age or The Witcher due to it's dropin multi-player support but it's the single best isometric turn based RPG out there.
Got this chick her soul, told her I had it, then dropped it right in front of her and as it shattered -- so did her life. It was hilarious. That's what she gets for calling me a petulant pup.
In all seriousness, love this game a ton, but hate missing 3 times in a row with 80% chance to hit on high ground. There should be a rule that you can't miss that many times in a row with that high of a chance to hit and that scenario of being on high ground. Small gripe, but that's really all a person could do if they were to review this game. It's too good to do otherwise.
