Listed among the "Top 100 PC Games Of All Time" by PC GAMER (2012), Divine Divinity is an epic role-playing game with hack-and-slash action, offering a huge world to explore and thousands of items to investigate, trade and use.
The game chronicles the never-ending battle between valiant heroes and the destructive powers of Chaos harnessed by the Black Ring, a cult of enduring evil. You play the role of the prophesised Chosen One who under the guidance of the wizard Zandalor must unite the seven races of Rivellon so that you may become the Divine One and stop the birth of the Lord of Chaos.

In spite of being a non-party based RPG this mirrors the interactivity with the people, environments and choices that graced the Ultima series, yet retained the glorious ARPG mechanics from Diablo, also it's great to note that there's even a karma-type system as with the fallout series whereas everyone is attack-able, and people react to your good, and bad deeds over time!
If you are a fan of these games you owe it to yourself to get this game already!
Plays very similar to Temple of Elemental Evil, but instead of turn-based combat, it's pauseable real-time. As of this writing I haven't gotten to the end yet, but I haven't found any gameplay bugs yet- Hours and hours of gameplay in a large & well-designed environment.
This is a good game, but some flaws prevent it from being one of the best.
First the Good Points. The maps are huge with a lot of exploration to do and full of things to discover, side quests and powerfull items to find. The enemies are quite different and the combat requires some tactic to best the thougher enemies, at least at "hard mode", "normal mode" is much more easy and will do for a more relaxed gameplay. You can customize your character to a great degree in terms of skills. Side quests are an added value, being quite original and usually different from the boring "fetch this/kill this - get reward". The story, albeit not very original, does its work well.
Now the Bad Points. Although you can choose among a lot of skills, only some of them are really usefull, you have to plan your "build" well otherwise you will have problems going on, since you can't change skill points allocation. I found that the mage class isn't developed how it should, I mean: you can be a warrior and cast spell the same way a mage would, so a warrior has all the advantages in this game, while mages and rogues don't. The graphic could be much better, it's worse than a lot of its contemporaries like Diablo2, not to mention Morrowind; the music is average.
Last note, the game is quite linear as an Rpg: you have some choices in some side quests and with the customization of your character but that is as far as choices go, you wont' affect the game world that much. So the game remains a good action game with an rpg flavour, but for a real RPG look elsewhere.
