A truly engrossing journey
Entering the realm of Rivellon is dangerous. If you want a linear game with a well defined, beaten path, look elsewhere. If you think of this game as a Diablo clone, think again. Entering the realm of Rivellon is dangerous: it will lure you in, and you will lose yourself in it. While Divinity does borrow from the hack'n'slash genre, the massive world and the freedom of exploration and of choice it offers is more reminiscent of the Elder Scrolls series. When I had picked up this game on a whim years ago, I was flabbergasted. Hiding in the shadows of obscure, unknown titles was the most engrossing, rewarding and overall *FUN* RPG experience I had ever known, where exploration was encouraged and rewarded, and the "main quest" was outrageously dwarfed by the "side" ones. I have never finished Divine Divinity, simply because there was just so much to see, so much to do, so much land to roam, so many things to discover! It's a masterful example of world building excellency. Divine Divinity is a very well rounded game, and has many strong points, but none stronger than the freedom it offers. If you value exploration, choice and immersion, do yourself a favour, and let yourself be drawn into the realm of Rivellon.

A mix between diablo, Fallout and Ultima
In spite of being a non-party based RPG this mirrors the interactivity with the people, environments and choices that graced the Ultima series, yet retained the glorious ARPG mechanics from Diablo, also it's great to note that there's even a karma-type system as with the fallout series whereas everyone is attack-able, and people react to your good, and bad deeds over time! If you are a fan of these games you owe it to yourself to get this game already!

Highly Recommended D&D Lookalike
Plays very similar to Temple of Elemental Evil, but instead of turn-based combat, it's pauseable real-time. As of this writing I haven't gotten to the end yet, but I haven't found any gameplay bugs yet- Hours and hours of gameplay in a large & well-designed environment.
